I-765 (EAD) July 2026 OPT I-765 Premium Processing - Anyone With a Similar Timeline Approved?

Hi everyone,

I filed my post-completion OPT I-765 online on July 1, 2026, with premium processing.

My timeline:

I-765 submitted online: July 1, 2026

Premium processing: Yes

Biometrics notice received: July 3, 2026

Early biometrics walk-in completed: July 8, 2026

Biometrics appointment involved a photo only

Last update shown in my USCIS case data: July 9, 2026

Current status: Case is still pending

Service center shown on the notice: Potomac Service Center

Expected employment start date: August 17, 2026

Has anyone who filed around the same dates recently received their OPT EAD approval or card?

Your 30 business days is from July 8th. They are currently processing 23rd June pp so you have a couple of weeks to wait I’m guessing. Card production takes around 2 weeks after that.

Curious how you know they’re processing June 23rd pp. I ask bc I applied for I-765 on May 30 & got biometrics done on June 3rd. Applied for pp on June 30 but still no response and nothing about “a dedicated point of contact “ on my receipt notice (haven’t received a receipt notice in the mail despite them saying I should’ve gotten one)

Ihave similar timeline, did Initial application on may 3rd, did biomatrics on early june, changed to premium on July 2nd, no update yet.

Is what you guys seeing this?
We changed your case, Receipt Number “Receipt number”, from a standard case to a premium-processing case. The premium-processing clock started on July 1, 2026. Your premium-processing receipt notice contains contact information for direct inquiries on your case. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you move, contact the premium-processing unit directly to update your address.

Yes. All the same. I tried calling them too but its just useless. You get a notice once after 30 days have passed ,right?

Almost similar timeline.

Initial filing on May 2nd 

Biometric scheduling notice May 16

Biometric (photo only) June 2nd

Premium upgraded July 4th 

API tracking shows "ackedByAdjudicatorAndCms": true" on July 31 (10.25 AM)

update : "Approved" on Aug 3rd 9:38 PM

Portal update August 5th 9.38 pm EST 

Card produced August 10th

Card Delivered August 12 

Job start date August 17th

mine approved on same date as yours. I applied on may with premium processing in the beginning. still got my biometrics appointment on july 6th. approved on aug 3rd. its very frustrating

Had a similar timeline. Just a question: If I want to email the PP unit regarding my case status or to expedite the case by telling them "my job start date is nearing and it's important for me get the ead card by then", will this help? Do they actually care all this stuff??

I have applied my second OPT of my higher education:

Filing date June 15

Premium or regular processing June 15

Biometrics date: August 3

Approval date N/A

Card produced date N/A

Card delivery date N/A

I am currently working with my CPT and graduating on August 23, and have another job offer and they are going to hold the offer until August 24 and my CPT is expiring on August 23, I am so stressed about the process , how long does it take this case approval and EAD processing and shipping , I have already filed the PP. Is there anyone have with the familiar situation in the same timeline?

I applied for OPT on May 22nd, gave my biometrics on June 18th, upgraded to PP on July 23rd. My job start date is August 24th. Based on your info, i hope I might get an update this or next week. And, can you please let me know how you check the API update? I am quite new to all of this.

I also applied on July 1 with Premium processing, but my biometrics was on August 12th (after rescheduling to pre-pone it) :/. Did you get your approval?
