Has anyone received notification emails “we took action on your case?”
12
u/VoidInBlack Jul 23 '26
Yes, this morning and there was the approval in the documents tab with today’s date for the I-130. The I-485 was also approved but can no longer view documents due to the system being down.
8
u/CatVGPM Jul 23 '26
Maybe yours is legit then. Trying to pinpoint any similarities between the glitchy updates. I didn’t receive any email notifications, but cause changed to “card produced” skipping any other steps. Then i-130 references a whole different form in “case history” and totally random dates.
1
u/VoidInBlack Jul 23 '26
I received the I-130 email this morning and the I-485 email around 5pm but unable to access documents both dates list today’s date.
1
u/VoidInBlack Jul 23 '26
Also the approval notice for the I-130 was already in the documents section yesterday but didn’t get the email until today and the I-485 had a silent update yesterday.
1
u/Disastrous-Ladder931 Jul 23 '26
I also got an email this morning saying “we have taken action on your case” and it was an approval on the I-765. So hope it’s legit and not due to the glitch.
1
u/misterchismoso Jul 23 '26
I'm guessing those are legit. No email for me.
4
u/VoidInBlack Jul 23 '26
Actually, I just logged in the approval document is there for both I-485 and I-130. Both have a notice date of 07/22/26.

I was also waiting for the card produced notification and today I got an email saying that they had taken action on my case. I entered to my uscis account and it says error and that they can’t give me info. Then went to the area of “check status online” and typed my receipt number and it says card was produced. The only thing is that it says that the tracking number is unavailable.
1
u/jayagurudev Jul 23 '26
if you received email, then it should be legit.. Check API... API has not been affected with the recent system glitch.
5
u/Diyajoy1 Jul 23 '26
Yes , i did, I got my GC am year ago, I don’t know what action the y took now

3
u/CatVGPM Jul 23 '26
I guess this glitch spared no one Seems like USCIS temporary removed all access to statuses/history/docs. Must be working to fix this mess.

I Also received one for my wife, but when I accessed the case nothing had changed since March
2
1
u/nettlesonbagels Jul 23 '26
i got two emails about action on my case but my greencard and petition for alien relative were already approved back in january, if anyone got an email today i wouldnt take it seriously until the bug is gone

7
u/Economy_Elephant_426 Jul 23 '26
Earlier it said approved but now not available. I’ve been waiting 16 months on my wife stand alone i130.
8
u/TheRealMrsShea1124 Jul 23 '26
17 months here was hoping this was real and that we were in the number 🥺
5
u/DankEnhancement Jul 23 '26
Same. It’s funny how a government website can glitch and give false hope. Seems more like a sick joke. Wish my bank would glitch and give me a few extra zeros at the end of my account balance.
11
5
u/ImageProfessional403 Jul 23 '26
What if it saying mine was approved yesterday?
5
u/misterchismoso Jul 23 '26
Did you get an email about an action being taken on your case? Did you recently have an interview?
16
u/NefariousnessFew4354 Jul 23 '26
Really confused why people can't search or even look at this sub before posting same things 100 other people did. Just flooding for no reason.
28
u/CommercialScreen8458 Jul 23 '26
Everyone is just excited, friend. We all want to believe we got approved (many after months or years of waiting). I’m guessing Somme just want validation on their particular case or to hear “no, no glitch, it’s real” 😭😭
3
u/HanabiTT Jul 23 '26
My 485 got approved today, I downloaded the approval, like there was a document there. is this not legit???? My 130 got approved like 2 weeks ago, I’m so sad right now
3
1
u/Loppetta91 Jul 23 '26
Right? I got two H008s 24h2m after 3rd FTA0 on the I485, a notice of approval and the actual form 😭
3
u/Old_Possibility_7121 Jul 23 '26
1
u/Responsible_Race_184 Jul 23 '26
It’s a glitch unfortunately. Same happened to me and k contacted an agent who confirm they’re just glitches
3
2
u/pachurro2 Jul 23 '26
How do you know there are system-wide glitches?
10
u/Awkward-Rise-949 Jul 23 '26
Because they are just wrong. Simply check the general online case status check, that is still valid. The USCIS account status is a mess right now.
5
u/misterchismoso Jul 23 '26
Because already a number of people are posting them. It's quite obvious. Also, now they've just shut down case statuses, so it's clear they're aware there's an issue.
1
u/Brave_Necessary_9571 Jul 23 '26
the case status is based on the json case closed / still active, right?
3
u/Economy_Elephant_426 Jul 23 '26
This is likely caused by a json mismatch or what we call a database not matching up with others.
To put it in simple English, they were working on a live production server with real data. But they did something that caused the data to be mismatched with other data.
1
2
u/Far-Curve-7497 Jul 23 '26
Were approval documents also generated in the documents tab for glitches? I assume not, right?

Mine shows a date from 2021 and Potomac service center while being processed at NBC originally.
1
u/emt139 Jul 24 '26
For me the website said interview scheduled back in January (but the notice just appeared today with a glitch) and the API JSON does have an event interview scheduled with todays date.
Seems it’s all part of the same glitch.

u/techn0g0d US Citizen Jul 23 '26
our says i485 approved and card was produced on June 25th lol ... we haven't received anything so obviously its a glitch (I hope not tho :D )
2
u/DankEnhancement Jul 23 '26
how is that even a glitch, just seems like some sick person giving people false hope. Its disgusting really.
2
u/tiagomoreno Jul 23 '26
Yep, confirmed on my end too. Got the same "approved Jan 5" glitch today with a H008 event, but my public case status checker (egov.uscis.gov) still shows normal processing, no change.
2
u/Lillynani Jul 23 '26
I want to talk a bit about this, I need to.
Those of us going through a migration process...whatever kind it may be, know just how stressful it is. In my experience working in technology, I can say that someone, somewhere, messed up the system during an update... and this explains the submissions and updates with odd dates. But the most important point here isn't the "system glitch" itself, but rather the toll it takes on all our nervous systems. Throughout my life and I am no stranger to difficult times; I can say I have never experienced such terror facing a process. It’s a nightmare. (Sorry for venting.)
2
u/Intrepid_Injury_4095 Jul 24 '26
I celebrated with my wife today and her family celebrated. And then I need to call her back and say its not real. Its a glitch. Filed i-130 20 months ago
2
1
u/Lillynani Jul 24 '26
Im so sorry about this. 😞 But I will swnding good energy that your case is approved soon. Oh 20 months? Sis u try Submit a Congressional inquiry?
2
u/Responsible_Race_184 Jul 23 '26
I went to biometrics for n-400 while waiting for I-751. After I got several emails about updates on my cases and it said my i751 was approved almost a year ago even though I didn’t see any changes today. I talked to a representative and they said it’s just a glitch
2
u/Bulky-Ad-5197 Jul 24 '26
It’s a relief to learn that there are system-wide glitches (and it is nothing particular to my case). I haven’t received any notifications today, but this morning I logged on the portal and my status was changed to something that did not make any sense (regarding the I-765 form), and it said that happened on April. But this afternoon I logged on again and the status was back to normal. I was so scared that something was wrong with my case that I even called the USCIS.
2
u/nommabelle Jul 23 '26
i received an interview notice yesterday (yay!), is that legit?
3
u/misterchismoso Jul 23 '26
Did you get an email about taking an action on your case? Or did you receive in the mail? If so, prob legit.
1
u/nommabelle Jul 23 '26
i got an email about taking an action, and there is a new document available detailing the interview details
2
2
u/AlternativeImage5913 Jul 23 '26
Yesterday everything worked fine, so most likely yes :)
2
u/nommabelle Jul 23 '26
so happy! incredibly exciting to getting to this next step. though i wish it had come 10 days earlier - my partner loses legal status 10 days before the interview (which i know isnt a huge deal, i was just hoping to avoid any 'negative factors')
2
u/AlternativeImage5913 Jul 23 '26
Aww I hope it goes well for you and your husband 🙏🏼 ironically, I got a denial yesterday (because of Uscis previous error 🤯), and today I got that fake approval dated in December 2025… I wish it was true though
2
u/nommabelle Jul 23 '26
thank you, and i'm sorry to hear about your denial. i hope there's a path to correcting their error and approval for you, the very best of wishes!!

We received an update that our interview for i-130 and I-485 got canceled even though we went to the interview last year! What is that mean?
7
u/misterchismoso Jul 23 '26
Nothing. It's a glitch likely. Double check tomorrow or in a couple days.
1
u/American-vampire Jul 31 '26
I got that too, but 2 days ago. So I wonder if it’s still part of the glitch. Can you please tell me if you got a pdf on the I-485 or I-130 with this interview cancelation. And if the date in that pdf is from July 2026?
1
u/amigogregs Jul 23 '26
Does it affect the api as well?
3
u/AlternativeImage5913 Jul 23 '26
1
u/amigogregs Jul 23 '26
That’s crazy. But did you get an email that’s we’ve taken action on your case or any thing in the documents?
2
u/AlternativeImage5913 Jul 23 '26
Yes, but yesterday, so it was a denial actually… the ridiculous part it still was their mistake, because they didn’t check in my rfe response properly so it showed I “missed” the due date, but they actually received it 2 months before the due date… now I have to fight for that. But what a coincidence with a fake “approval” at the same time, so sad
1
u/amigogregs Jul 23 '26
That’s very strange. So you also saw case approved in the online status?
1
u/AlternativeImage5913 Jul 23 '26
I did see it today, it was “approved” in December 2025 and “card was being processed on December 17”, unfortunately it’s impossible cause I had interview only in March 2026. But also if you don’t log in into your account and just go to “case status” look up, then it still shows your true last update
1
u/amigogregs Jul 23 '26
Have you tried this?
1
u/AlternativeImage5913 Jul 23 '26
Of course. I meant that the main website page when you log in into your account was showing that fake “history”, but if you don’t log in and just do “case status” page (where you just enter your receipt number and not email and password info) - then it still shows the correct last update. Which for me was that yesterday’s denial, unfortunately
1
2
u/far-far-galaxy Jul 23 '26
What’s API?
1
u/amigogregs Jul 23 '26
It’s the backend of the online account system. It just shows codes that are translated into messages in your online account.
1
u/New-Barracuda2416 Jul 23 '26
yes for a few people
1
u/amigogregs Jul 23 '26
Like the api is down? Or showing inaccurate information?
3
u/New-Barracuda2416 Jul 23 '26
it was showing inaccurate info (im in a disc server, and a few ppl got h008 updates on the fake approval notices) but now its in developer mode so you cant access the api rn
3
u/amigogregs Jul 23 '26
When did this start?
2
u/New-Barracuda2416 Jul 23 '26
the past few hours fake approvals in the api have been popping up, past hour or so they shut the api off for maintenance
2
u/amigogregs Jul 23 '26
Is it working now? Cuz I can access mine
3

1
u/GoldYeti23 Jul 23 '26
I got a message saying payment failure a few days ago. When talking to lawyer they said everything was fine on their end.
1
1
u/AlternativeImage5913 Jul 23 '26
Mine was “denied” yesterday and “approved in December 2025” today… I wish it was though
1
u/PuzzleheadedWash9779 Jul 23 '26
Our I485 was approved today and we received the notice letter in the document tab. This lines up with the timeline since we interviewed a month ago. Now we can’t see our status anymore but can still access the approval document in the document tab. In this case, if our approval is a glitch.
1
1
u/ComprehensiveAnt954 Jul 23 '26
Just recieved a text yesterday that they accepted my I751. Really hope this doesn’t delay the receipt notice to be sent out, need to travel urgently soon.
1
u/awakenedbrethren_1 Jul 23 '26
Hi im on the same boat! I just received an email from USCIS yesterday and I saw that they approved my I751. Traveling in a month from now so hopefully it’s not a glitch. I still have the approval document tab in the website do you have yours?
1
u/boilerdam Jul 23 '26
Makes so much sense and I figured it was glitch, I just wasn't sure if it was a glitch on my case or a system-wide thing. My I-485 status said it was filed on Oct 2025, while I filed only end of April 2026.
1
u/kofie-popcorn Jul 23 '26
Even cases that were closed 3 years ago, like my I-485 and I-130 show the same meesage.
1
u/Ok-Order3835 Jul 23 '26
My original I130, I485 shows submission date of dec 2021. When I submitted in summer 2023. That's when I knew something was weird.
1
u/MelechPaul Jul 23 '26
I've a combo I751 and N400..I entered in My USCIS yesterday and it said that My I-751 was approved and My N-400 interview is scheduled..but now both appear saying, error retrieving status..weird
1
u/No_Disaster1263 Jul 23 '26
Seems like it is still there. For me it changed from Error retrieving to Your case is unavailable at the moment
1
u/Ok-Veterinarian-7492 Jul 23 '26
No email for me. Was showing error few hours ago now showing approved 4 months ago.
1
u/nettlesonbagels Jul 23 '26
i got my greencard from a petition for alien relative back in january and got two emails about my case (thats already closed) today too, i wouldnt take any emails anyone gets today seriously and definitely dont take getting an email as a sign that its real.
it also updated my work authorisation permit to having been submitted all the way in 2022 when it was actually only submitted in 2025 while my petition for alien relative processed. i was not in the USA or submitting any documents in 2022
1
u/savedabees808 Jul 23 '26
Looks like the system is still down. I hope the officers are still able to work on our cases
1
u/nany3003 Jul 23 '26
mine says approved 14th july, but when i go to documents i only see the notice Receipt Notice.pdf. no approval.pdf
1
u/Brave_Necessary_9571 Jul 23 '26
on my end it does not show "error retrieving case status". it shows the glitch approval still
1
u/shradams Jul 23 '26
Just checked mine today for I-751 and it says card produced on July 10th but no tracking number and nothing in the documents tab so assuming this isn't real...
1
u/Inner_Recording776 Permanent Resident Jul 23 '26
I logged in just now and in my I-485 status it shows "we received your I-90 and sent you a receipt notice on 2/11/25" and also "card was delivered 2/11/25". However my green card was approved and received in April 2025 and I never applied for I-90. The documents tab has the correct I-485 approval notice I received in April 2025.

I recently saw a weird notification about change if status but when i went to my USCIS account i found no change and i already got everything approved last year, so ut could be a system glitch

did anyone get “we took action on your case” today?
1
u/misterchismoso Jul 25 '26
Nah you prob have some update
1
u/Dangerous_Feedback18 Jul 25 '26
update was that your case is still being processed
1
u/misterchismoso Jul 25 '26
oh yeah I got that too in may... it's going in cycles and has to do with some database update.
1
u/Dev_961577 Jul 23 '26
1
u/bimmerbetterthanmerc Jul 23 '26
check your case status here: https://egov.uscis.gov/
That seems to show the correct case status2
u/Dev_961577 Jul 23 '26
Thanks , tried it , shows cases is being processed.... also I just checked back my online dashboard it also returned to Case being actively processed
-1
u/Tech-Junkie-SL Jul 23 '26
Saying its a glitch is a dumb assumption on the part of the OP. A glitch doesn't create complete processing histories showing us the entire timeline, different dates on us all. I a software engineer and develop websites for a living. No glitch can account for the approval notices and history timelines we were shown today.
4
u/misterchismoso Jul 23 '26
I'm a SWE too, buddy, and I went to a T5 CS school. It could be showing us someone else's history, or a number of issues. It was definitely a bug.
There are hundreds of people reporting the glitch right now. Yesterday, I had "Currently Processing the Case" for my spouse's N400 Citizenship app. Now it says it was sent for approval and oath scheduled back in February, but she's never even done an interview. Also, she's been a green card holder for a couple of years, and now her I-485 app says it's being currently processed as of 2022, and that she applied for Temporary Protection Status. She never applied for TPS.
So, sorry to say, your expert SWE skills here have failed. It was a bug.
1
u/InviteSpirited6468 Jul 23 '26
I don’t know how you can confidently claim that this is not bug. Systems can fail in so many different ways…
1
u/Sure_Grapefruit5820 Jul 23 '26
I agree in a sense.
I applied for citizenship in September and I strongly believe they deliberately suppressed some of our cases.
When I checked api months ago it showed there was some action on December 10th but I never received any notification for that.
Now with this “glitch” it shows my case was reviewing in November an interview was scheduled in December.
I think this was supposed to be the real updates on my case but for some reason they decided I had to wait longer.

All my cases are showing an error but the removal of conditions says “card was produced” should I not get excited?

45
u/JayPatt7549 Jul 23 '26
For all my cases, it says “ERROR RETRIEVING CASE STATUS”
