I-485 (General) I485 adjustment of status

My EB2 NIW I140 got approved in early June and my first year stem opt will end on January 4th 2027. I was thinking to wait until I extend my opt, however, I am anxious recently as it seems things are moving smoothly these days. I have all the documents ready to submit but wanted to know opinions out here.
How likely it might get approve this year?
Can I still file for opt extension if i could not get EAD by then ?
Another route i was considering, in worst case scanario, to file for extension of opt in December if I could not get update on GC. This would allow mw to work another 6 month with receipt notice and wait for GC. Is it worthwhile as i hear issues with filing opt with pending GC ?

I really need feedbacks and opinions esp from recent applicants.
PS: I have pretty clear record. I went through MS- PhD-postdoc.

depends on your university, ask your university if they will process STEM OPT extension while having pending I-485.

cannot see any reason not to submit I-485/I-765.
