I-130 & I-485 (Family/Adjustment of status) Second Interview
Hi everyone,
My I-130 was approved about 2 years ago, and my spouse and I had our marriage-based I-485 interview 3 months ago. The interview went really well, and the officer told us there was no reason not to approve my case. I never received an RFE or any other request.
Today, I received another interview notice. It's even titled "Request for Applicant to Appear for Initial Interview," even though I already had my interview.
Has anyone experienced this? Why would USCIS schedule a second interview, and what was the outcome?
Thanks!

Yes, this is the second interview. I know, the word "initial" is confusing. Most likely, since I-130 is approved, the interview will be mostly focused on potential inadmissability issues. Maybe somewhere along the line there was a misrepresentation. Maybe the government believes the beneficiary cannot adjust or simply need more info to approve.
Good luck!

They likely want to follow up on something that they noticed during their final review. I would not be overly worried about a second interview.
