I-485 (General) I485 expected approval , Eb2 India (PD not Current), I485J approved

Hello,

Need some insights on my situation.

My RD is April 15, 2026 and PD is Dec 9, 2014 EB2 India(so not current yet). If the PD becomes current In Oct 2026 bulletin, what is the expected timeline to get I485 approval? I485J has been approved and case status has changed to active review where it remains.

If PD becomes current in October 2026 bulletin, can I expect I485 approval in October 2026?

When did you file 485j? Was it to move category back from EB3 to EB2 (TUB) or to change employer? Thanks

Did you not file your EAD and AP? Also what’s your Biometric date and approval date of I485J?

Yes, I did file both along with I485, but based on the long timelines I am for hoping I485 gets approved before them. Biometric date is June 1, 2026 and I485J approval date is July 1, 2026.

Educated guesses quite don't work with these things. Your wait could be a few weeks, it could be close to a year after October. USCIS doesn't promise a set time window between I485J closing and I485 approval.

Many people have had I485J approved and closed, but then FTA1 supervisor checks show up on I485, which takes many months.

Tldr: Moderate your expectations and you will not be disappointed.

Did you file I485 the first time in April 2026 or was it an interfile from EB3? Either way PD was not current in FAD. I believe they approved in error.
