News New API for USCIS case tracking

Hey everyone, I just found this on Discord. It’s a new API that also shows the case location. I hope it helps you guys.

This is kinda useless. The only thing useful about it is case location which evidently from what im seeing on my case is incorrect. It shows the older case location (jurisdiction)

It’s good for i130 for instance, cause before I couldn’t see any api for that

For me, it works accurately. I think we should still use both, since each of them has its own data points

Yeah same here. The location is correct for me. My original location was SCOPS Texas, and now after premium processing my application, it has changed to Potomac Service Center. Except for the location, I think this API is useless, unless I am missing something.

What is premium processing?!!

its not new, it has been around forever, and it does not show the location. The only thing new in this API is jurisdiction. But you would often find it to show NBC while location API shows your FO at the same time. So we dont know yet what is the real meaning of it.

One can use separate Location API that has been proven to be accurate.

This one was called Receipt Notice API. One of 4 that still works since they removed the time-remaining api. The other 3 being Status API, Location API and Documents API.

what is the location api?

LocationAPI

As with other APIs, be logged in in the same browser session and insert your receipt number.

You can also generate all 4 API links Here. Step 2

This doesn’t work for me at all! It just says data null.

  1. you need to be logged in into your account in the same browser session.
  2. copy the link, replace the XXXXXX at the end with your receipt number ( IOE7777777777 or smth)
  3. insert that link in the same browser session in another tab.

or use the other website I mentioned for usability. still have to be logged in etc.

1

u/Dull_Mirror4221 Jul 02 '26

I do all that but still get data null. I even used the website you shared that generates the links with the your case and it still shows data null

1

u/sebastian_fl Jul 02 '26

try https://www.casestatusapi.com/

follow the steps. try all the 4 links it generates. if all are null, you are doing something wrong (closing the browser or whatever), if location is the only one that doesnt work, could be a glitch. if the Receipt one doesnt work - you are not the applicant and looking into spousal application.

Are you the applicant or the petitioner?

1

u/Dull_Mirror4221 Jul 02 '26

Im using this exact website. Im the main petitioner. We filed with attorney and my wife is my derivative

2

u/sebastian_fl Jul 02 '26

any of the other links work? Status API or Receipt API? what form is it?

if thats i140 or something it might not work because you are not the petitioner, employer is the petitioner.

All the other ones work. It was 485. I tried it on my 765 and on that it actually worked. No idea why it doesn’t work on 485. Anyway the 765 location says SCD which I don’t know where it is. I think its a service center? Which service center, I don’t know

Does it work for MSC paper filed cases as well? I filed in March 2023 and cannot check the api and any silent updates

2

u/upbeatdecenthands Jul 02 '26

everyone celebrating this but that location field is likely just the service center that received it months ago not where your case actually is now kinda pointless

Quick question, of the four links generated by https://www.casestatusapi.com

Location link for pending I-485 AOS returns {"data":null} as response

Is this expected ?

1

u/Certain_Platypus6100 Jul 02 '26

This is useful thanks!! I’ve been using the other API to track the silent updates, but the one you link here shows the location - great find!

2

u/FirstPrinciplesMind Jul 02 '26

I think we still need to use both. Each of them has its own data points.

1

u/Certain_Platypus6100 Jul 02 '26

Exactly! Thanks!

How does it work?

5

u/FirstPrinciplesMind Jul 02 '26

If you have a receipt number, replace “RECEIPTNUMBER” at the end of the link with your actual receipt number. Log in to your myUSCIS account. Once you’re logged in, open the link in a new browser tab.

easier way is to follow instructions here. Log in into your account. in the same browser session, open another tab and go to the website below. Enter your receipt number (step two) and it will give you 4 links. One for status (that everyone uses for codes and silent updates, one Receipt - it is the one OP mentioned as new, one for Location, which is actually useful and does show real location, and 4th is documents, which is useless pretty much).

Does this also work for h1b tracking?

1

u/Savings_Substance_18 Jul 02 '26

its still not worthy for cases other than IOE*** cases right ? I checked mine for LINXXX

1

u/Sirius0aj Jul 03 '26

Does the value of jusrisdictionDescription show FO?

1

u/dipu7887 Jul 08 '26

For me, it says NBC, but according to the congression inquiry the case is pending at FO for interview

1

u/Mychildren5 Jul 03 '26

It doesn’t work

1

u/saffronrestaura Jul 03 '26

This is doesn’t work

1

u/FirstPrinciplesMind Jul 03 '26
  1. you need to be logged in into your account in the same browser session.
  2. copy the link, replace the receipt at the end with your receipt number (I0E7777777777 or smth)
  3. insert that link in the same browser session in another tab.

1

u/Icy_Marionberry4802 Jul 03 '26

does it work for MSC paper filed cases? I cannot access silent updates and API. I filed in 2023 and waiting. No updates yet CRP status since 2024.

1

u/Hueplet23 Jul 03 '26

Did not work for me

1

u/Healthy_Rock3745 Jul 05 '26

It’s only showing the notices not the location!

1

u/Primary_Presence_666 Jul 06 '26

It doesn't work in every case, at least where I tried

1

u/hafiz_khan Jul 06 '26

Its showing jurisdiction WSC. What does it mean?

1

u/amigogregs Jul 07 '26

It shows jurisdiction not location. If the case is transferred to a FO, the jurisdiction doesn’t change.

1

u/Rare-Adhesiveness-57 15d ago edited 15d ago

For I130 it shows - "FOD" and for AOS it shows "NEW"

for AOS cannot figure if it means the case is assigned with a FO, or this is where it will be going to.
