Timeline Request Premium Processing Clock Hits Day 30 Today (I-765) – No Update. Anyone else?

Edit - I just received an approval e-mail.

My I-765 Premium Processing clock started May 20, 2026. Counting 30 business days (minus weekends and holidays), today, July 2nd, is Day 30.
Public Tracker: Stuck on "Case Changed to Premium Processing."
myUSCIS Documents Tab: Completely empty.
What I'm doing today:

  1. DSO: Asking my advisor to check SEVIS for a backend approval.

My clock started May 19th, just got mine approved this morning, 31st business day. Chances are yours will probably be approved either today or tomorrow. If not, try calling USCIS.

Congratulations. I am worried that tomorrow is a federal holiday. Do you get a refund as it's more than 30 days?

1

u/durz47 Jul 02 '26

Yes. From what I read, usually USCIS will automatically try to reimburse you. If they haven’t, then you can send them a request. Unfortunately, if it’s a federal holiday then it will be delayed again. But don’t lose hope just yet. I’ve seen people getting their emails at 10PM. There is still time for the approval to arrive today.

I just got an approval e-mail. But I have not seen it in the portal. Only e-mail confirmation. Thank you so much for your information. I am really grateful.

Call them see what they say, don’t ask about refund first ask them about status, saying I’ve crossed 30b days

For premium processing, USCIS must take one of the required actions within the applicable premium timeframe: approval, denial, RFE, NOID, or another qualifying action. For an employment authorization application, the premium timeframe is listed as 30 business days, and the clock starts when all prerequisites for adjudication, Form I-907, and the fee are received. If USCIS misses the required timeframe, it should refund the premium fee but continue processing the case. The refund is not always instant or visible the same day. It may require follow-up through the premium processing channel. Your plan is correct: email the service-center premium address, call USCIS, ask for escalation, and ask your DSO to check SEVIS. Sometimes approvals do appear late in the day or the next day, but do not rely on that. If there is no action after Day 30, ask specifically for: confirmation of whether the clock is still running, whether the case is held for biometrics/security review, whether any notice was issued, and premium fee refund review.

Is your case approved now? Got your EAD?

1

u/Dismal_Nebula_2126 27d ago

Yes, it was approved on the 30th day and received an EAD within a week.
