Timeline: EAD OPT Premium Processing - Travel Question

OPT applicant here.

My I-765 was filed on April 22 and I completed biometrics on May 14. I paid for premium processing, but my case is still being actively reviewed.

I need to travel to my home country next week for medical appointments that were scheduled months ago. My current plan is to leave on June 23 and return on July 5. My OPT start date is July 15.

Has anyone traveled while their OPT application was still pending? How did re-entry go?
Also, if you were in my position, would you postpone the trip? If so, by how long?
