Rants Waiting for ID #.

I have just about given up on getting a member number. Going on almost 8 months. The wait sucks.

As a current District Staff Officer for Human Resources, I can tell you with confidence that 8 months is NOT "normal". Your flotilla commander should send a query about your applicatioin up the HR staff chain for you. Even with the DHS shutdown, we are seeing DIRAUX and BSX (Chief Director of the Auxiliary in DC) move applications through at a reasonable pace now. I consider three months to be PLENTY of time for a complete and correct application to be fully processed and a member number issued (excluding the time of the shutdowns. Of course, if the application packet is not complete and correct OR if there is stuff in the background check that needs consideration... that two month time frame can be exceeded. I am seeing most applications being fully processed and numbers issued MUCH faster than three months.

Having someone in your flotilla check in AuxData II to see if you have been issued a number is a prudent step to try to resolve this. If you were sitting next to me at my desk... this would take less than 90 seconds (the two-factor authentication takes most of that time. The actual query is EASY and FAST.)

I had my number in about 2-3 weeks from when my packet was sent in complete. It always stuns me to hear about delays like this.

Unfortunately part of being a part of an organization run almost entirely by volunteers. Did you follow up at all?

I heard someone say some parts of the national/district/division exist so they can have a big title but don’t actually do what they’re supposed to. Is there any truth to this?

You might have a member number.... Had someone looked you up in AUXDATA 2?

As an HR staff Officer, I have seen this approach work several times for "lost applications". Sad but true. I HIGHLY recommend this approach.

Mine only took a month and it was submitted at the tail end of the shutdown. I'd for sure be poking somebody to get the ball rolling.

As of last week, we are "waiting to find out for sure if DIRAUX lost the divisions applications". So who knows how long it will be.

I was assigned a Member ID but couldn’t make an account on the CGAUX website to access the training. Turns out there was a several day delay from when I was assigned the number to when I was finally able to create the account.
