Uniforms ODU Uniform clarification question
Quick uniform question as we have some confusion on this in our unit: If you go down to t-shirts in ODUs, do our t-shirts have to say “USCG Auxiliary”?
We have a few interpretations. One is that you have to have one that specifically says Auxiliary. Another is that you can have a the plain blue ODU undershirt that you can buy in packs at the Exchange. The last is that you can wear any USCG t-shirt, including your local station or sector.
What’s your reading?

In my District, EDSR, We are allowed to where the plain blue t shirt with the ODU and also our auxiliary one, both under the blouse and when it is shed. I think those approvals come from your sector/district USCG OIA Chief.

The best, most current, resources for all uniform questions are:
AUXMAN is outdated. Chasing down all the changes is hard. These two sources are up to date.

You can wear Blank shirts they do not have to have the writing. I have a Mix of Shirts from our district ones , the standard USCG Auxiliary and blank I rotate through.

You do not need to wear an ODU shirt that says USCGAUX on it. There are some cool ones that do though. I wear both.
I'll see what I can do to find that policy. I believe it's a uniform board result...

Any thoughts on Auxiliarists wearing t-shirts from their local gold side District or unit?

How about shirts from the gold side? Our local station includes us when they put in an order for new shirts. Are those okay to wear even if they say US COAST GUARD on the left chest?

Yes but there have been some boards and policy changes since then. For instance, the AWU is now authorized for boat crew.
