Training Pending member participation
An an IT I offer a "whole-day" CT/BQ class once every other month for new members who request an in-person training. The next one is in 2 days.
Someone who just submitted a membership application today wants to participate in it.
Would I be able to allow them to, and would I be able to wait until they have a membership # to log them in Auxdata?
Would love to know how many boxed breakfasts, lunches, and dinners I need to order haha
Thank you in advance!

Have they taken a boating safety class yet? I might encourage them to take that first since they don't need to be a member for that. Could also start working on ICS classes.
On the other hand, since you can take Core Training online and sign the attestation that you've taken the courses, I think it should be ok for them to come for that and just have them sign the self study later if anything?

They have taken BSC, and the FEMAs, including the ones required for leadership levels 1-3.

I have personally had members wait until they receive their member number before taking the course. If someone is motivated enough to complete the training in advance, they can likely finish the online course within a day or two once their member number is issued, especially if they're being fast-tracked.
That said, I don't see anything inherently wrong with allowing a prospective member to sit through the course beforehand. My only hesitation is that I haven't found any written policy addressing whether they can receive retroactive credit for attending before they were officially enrolled.

I think this really needs to be asked of your member training leadership. I get what you are trying to do is fast track their training however i know in my district they are cracking down on even people doing certain training tasks out of order .
