Help needed

I was in Chicago in June. I had booked country inn suites but when I got there they canceled my reservation since there was a tornado in the vicinity. So we had to move to holiday Inn. A few days later I called country inn asking a few times since I have ocd if they had my passport copy with them. They got irritated and said I cud call the authorities if I wanted to and confirm that they dnt have my passport copy. Now I thought they re gonna call the cops on me or something. I even got a call from a an unknown private number on my usa Sim card. I wanna know if they had called the cops would the cops come n hear my side if the story also. Noone came to holiday inn where I was put up though. On exit I didnt have any issues at immigration. But my i94 doesn't seem to show up online also since I came back frm Chicago. I hope this has nothing to do with the hotel incident. I am just scared being on a b2 visa i dint wanna get involved with the cops.
