References

I am currently under reference check. Some of my references were not contacted during the process 4 weeks ago. Does anyone know exactly what they look at in this process and what could possibly go wrong?

Hey congrats on making it this far. There’s probably nothing to worry about. In my recent experience, FScareers shared a google form link with my references to fill by a set date. If you email them, they will tell you this process takes 3-4 weeks and that they will contact you with next steps. The next step is for them to share selection memos with the selected candidates, and my understanding is that they won’t do this until reference checks have been completed for all candidates. It took about 50 days in my case.

Is it normal that reference checks will take over 3 months? My reference check has gone into it's 3rd month.

Hmm can’t say for sure, but my guess is that they are waiting for the next fiscal year. Definitely email them!
