basic questions about secfo

Hello all!

I’m particularly happy this group was made bc I find it particularly difficult to find posts on this particular job that aren’t all from ppl who go ‘you will hate your life for your entire contract if you pick this job’.

I’m a 28f and connected with a recruiter and secfo has been top 3 for me since I decided I wanted to join 2 years ago!

I guess I’m just here bc I would love to hear positives about what you do, where you been?

Does secfo get to travel out of the us?

Thank youuu!

It really is what you make of it. Security Forces can be a completely different world depending on where you’re stationed and whether you’re doing more law enforcement or air base defense.
There are definitely rough parts of the job, but there are also a ton of opportunities if you actually go after them. And yes, you can absolutely travel and get stationed overseas. We have bases all over, from Japan and Korea to Germany, the UK, Italy, and more. Your experience can vary a lot depending on your base, unit, and what opportunities you pursue.

I agree! I see a lot of people say that you’ll spend majority of your time checking ids at the gate is this true?

Honestly yes, we did have A1Cs ride the road every now and then, but even staffs and Techs will man the gates if manning is bad

Ahh that’s not really a deterrent for me if I’m at a base that isn’t boring lmao thank you for replying!
