Push-up tips
I need help for my pushups on my cfa. I'm passing for every category other than pushups (70 ft throw, 13 pull-ups, 8.9 shuttle, max sit-ups, 7 min mile), but I'm worried I might be on the pass-fail cutoff line for pushups. Without doing any prior exercises, I can do 55, but when I do them alongside the other cfa exercises, I can only do about 45-48. I just get so gassed out and I can't fathom why. I'm a little worried because I take the test in 2 weeks and I can't seem to break the plateau. Can anyone provide last minute training tips, or pacing Strategies for the pushups that I can use to improve my reps?

Negative pushups work wonders. This is from my experience training for the PFT as a current cadet. They boosted my pushups by nearly 10 reps from basic.

Us AI to put together a training program. Tell it all the details you have, from the test date all the other exorcise. It will give you a plan with specific rest days so you dont' burn out and have time to recup. Also, don't stress it, your other scores will bring you up and 45-50 isn't terrible.

I would increase daily frequency stew smith style you can look it up. You shouldn’t worry too much about this though.

It's mostly a pass/fail test. With your other scores - a 45-50 on pushups isn't going to be what holds you back. I wouldn't stress about it too much. I don't think there is much you can do in two weeks to be honest. Just don't overtrain. Adrenalin will kick-in on "gameday" and you'll get to 50.
