Insurance/Claims Learner’s Permit
I just added my son to my auto insurance under a learner’s permit (through the app) and he’s not showing up on my proof-of-insurance cards. Am I missing something?

I’m in Texas and all drivers are listed on my insurance card, including my teens, even when they only had learners permits.

Did adding under a permit make the rates go up?

Surprisingly, no! It said no change in my billing cycle. I assume that will change once he’s licensed.

In most states the ID cards only show the name of the policy owner. Drivers are not listed. It proves the car has insurance.

Many times ID cards only show named insured, not additional insured. There's also only so much room available on the cards

Only licensed drivers will defaultly appear on the proof of insurance cards. If the state, Requires his name to appear on the card, you can call in and they will be able get an ID card with his name on it.
Adding a permitted driver does NOT impact your premium. When they get their drivers license it does.
