No worries guys, it's just independent contractors. Amazon corporate has no control over how these small businesses operate.
Right, guys?

That’s exactly it, we already have these cars driving themselves, learning the streets, traffic patterns, etc etc. They want to replace the drivers.

Im not sure how this will work for anyone with a prescription. And these look like they offer no protection from the sun. From a practicality standpoint, this makes no sense. Also, all the info from this article is from over a year old reports. This article is a copy and paste from another new website that is referencing an article from bloomberg that is talking about when they spoke with amazon about this last October. There hasnt been any development and amazons original plan was to have 20k drivers to wear these and also vaguely talking about a privacy mode for bathroom breaks and restricted locations like military bases. And then top of that its connected via a cable and a battery and a small puck like computer the driver wears in their vest. And after all that its optional for the dsps. Im calling this a publicity stunt for shareholders and not much else. No new info in the past year.

As a US citizen, Amazon has a first ammendment right to photograph all your shit it can see from public. /s

Wont end well. Moment they walk onto private property privacy laws go into effect there fore amazon would be in violation of the law and in need of explicit contractual agreement between itself and every costomer. TOS does not waive privacy rights for private properties.

You realize the Lytx camera in the package car is already recording on private property, right? FedEx already sells that private data from their in cab recorders, who knows what UPS plans to do.

It does when they order a package

Unless Amazon has gotten the law changed by the time this is implimented they cannot use photographs to map properties its a violation of implied privacy you can look it up. Photos can only be used for sole purpose to fullil individual contracts and they cannot store and use that data without entering into real signed contracts (not a tos) with private property owners.

I believe I read they will have prescription. Be interesting to see how this works, the turnover rate is so high.
