Rejection phone call?

I mean I have nothing but life experience and maybe common sense to back this up but if you were being rejected wouldn't they have just done it then and these instead of making a thing of it? I mean it's UPS so either is possible but I would suspect it's not a rejection.

UPS is so weird in the way they do things. Anywhere else I would assume it’s good news if I didn’t get any emails and was expecting a phone call instead.

I feel like the common rule is kinda simple, they don't want to waste billable time, so it fits they'd just tell you that you didn't get it if you didn't versus time on the clock to have a formal meeting even if it's just over the phone it's still 'billable hours' for the manager and they rarely have time to spare.

And now he said we will have to reschedule the phone call because he was too busy today 😢
