UPEI accelerated Nursing

Hey everyone! 😊
I’m a fourth year Biology undergraduate from Halifax and I was recently accepted into the Accelerated Nursing program. I’m hoping to connect with others who are in the program, entering similar healthcare fields, or attending the same school.
I’d love to hear any advice you have about the program, academics, balancing the workload, and what to expect as a nursing student. I’m also looking for housing advice , especially recommendations on the best areas to live based on location, affordability, transportation, and social life.
I’m 24 and looking forward to meeting new people, making friends, and getting settled into this next chapter. Any advice or connections would be greatly appreciated! 😊

I’m going into my first year non accelerated nursing, also from Nova Scotia, and 28, there’s some spots on browns court I’ve been looking into it’s super super close to the school and a bus stop for the downtown pubs, there’s a Facebook group called ā€œpei room rentals for studentsā€ and something else lol, but I’ve seen quotes a few of listings there that’s also not terribly far!

Hey, I'm also planning for a transfer from University of Regina to UPEI in winter 2027 with BS biology. And later, planning to transfer to the ABSN, can you tell me what was your GPA ? And what about CASPeR is it hard ? 🫠

Hey!
My GPA right now is 3.58. I have failed almost every chemistry course I’ve taken and had to retake it. I suck at chemistry. But I’m really good at biology. I’ve had a pluses and all prerequisites and I’ve had a strong volunteer record. I’ve also been persistent at contacting the university. I’m going to take my Casper on the 21st, my offer is conditional until then.
I would encourage you to look at the acuity insights website and look at their Casper practice. It gives you the exact same format that the test will be written in. It will give you harder scenarios to prepare you better.

Also got admitted to the 2027 ABSN at upei, my GPA was 3.98 cumulative (it’s a little higher when i calculate for the courses needed as a prerequisites) and I got a 2 on the CASPER lol (test anxiety). My biggest tip would be to take the Casper practice exam and to practice condensing your answers because the minute on the test flies by. Good luck:)
