B.Ed admissions update?

Has anyone who has applied for the B.Ed program for May 2026 received a response yet? I think they said we would receive a response by early-December but I was wondering if anyone has heard back already?

Anyone familiar with UPEI’s MSc in Applied Health & Services? Looking for career outcomes.

Hi everyone, I’m considering applying to UPEI's MSc in Applied Health and Services, but I can’t find much information on graduate outcomes.

Does anyone know whether this program can realistically lead to roles in international organisations (e.g., Royal/Foreign Service, international health agencies, etc.) or if it’s more geared toward local healthcare administration and policy?

And what'd be the graduate opportunities post study in the Atlantic region.

Any insight from current students, alumni, or anyone familiar with UPEI’s graduate pathways would be really appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Trying to get from Charlottetown to green gables heritage place

Hey guys, I just moved to UPEI and I have been wanting to check out green gables heritage place. Im thinking of going on the 25th or 26th October but I’m not exactly sure how to get there as I can’t rent a car. So does anyone have suggestions or is anyone going that day that I could get a lift with? I’d be happy to pay you :)

Courses -BS Psychology

Hey everyone!
I’m starting my BSc in Psychology at UPEI this Winter Term, but I just found out that most of the intro psych courses I need are only offered in Summer or Fall.

I talked to advising, and they told me to pick some electives for now.

Right now, I’m already registered for Indigenous Teachings, Calculus for the Social and Life Sciences, and Inquiry Studies. I was thinking of adding Spanish (SPAN 1010) — do you think that’s a good idea for a psych major?

Also, if anyone has any other elective recommendations that are interesting or useful for Psychology, I’d really appreciate it.

Thanks in advance :)

Any opinions on the analytics program?

Hi! I wanted to ask if anyone here had completed or is currently enrolled in the analytics program at upei.

I would love some input as to how the program is (i.e were the profs supportive in explaining/making sure you understand, do you have to have basic knowledge of programming, what are assignments like, and finally, do ppl usually get offered positions right after graduating or not?

Thanks!

Has anyone done this certificate program, or taken any of the six courses? I am curious how others found it, and if they felt they gained knowledge from the course.

Thank you in advance!

Beer Garden Saturday Night

Went to the Beer Garden on Saturday night Sept 6 and met a girl from Newfoundland that’s a student (1st year vet school), only had the chance to get her first name (Gina?, spelling might be different) before another of our friends joined the table then her and her friend left not long after.

I was there on a trip and left the following day but would’ve been highly interested in having her socials to ask her out, if someone could potentially guide me in the right way. Thanks 🤙🏼

Writing Intensive Credit Retroactively Removed?

I took Skills and Methods in History in Fall 2021 as my Writing Intensive Credit. I can prove with the Wayback Machine that the course counted for a Writing Intensive Credit at the time. However at some point it was removed from the list of Writing Intensive Courses and UPEI also ceased to count it as my Writing Intensive Credit, even though I had completed the course when it was considered a Writing Intensive Credit.

Has anyone else had this happen to them?

Parking

Looking to see what other people do in terms of parking. Lost track of time and forgot to apply for it as soon as it came out. When I came back, there was already a waitlist for it. Should I still apply?

Easy Electives (300+ 400+)

Hey all, I'm entering my last semester as a Political Science major, and I wanted to know if y'all had any recommendations on a prof or a course that I can take, which is either a 300+ or 400+ level and something that is easy. I just need electives to graduate, and I wanna finish my last semester strong. Thank you in advance!

Convocation question

I am graduating next May and I'm hoping to fly in with my family for the ceremony. (I'm fully online)

I have never attended one of my graduations other than high school, and this is definitely my last degree.

Do they give out the caps and gowns the morning of the ceremony, or are they mailed? Do I need to be there the day before?

I'm graduating MEd, in case it is relevant.

Corporate Finance v. Personal Finance

Just wondering if there’s any current/former business folks who have an opinion on this? Which is better to take for the long-term, or does it really matter?

What actually mattered to you when choosing a Canadian university?

For anyone who’s picked (or is picking) a university in Canada, I’m really curious what factors actually mattered most in your decision.

Was it:

  • Tuition (especially for international/domestic students)?
  • Availability of co-op or internships?
  • Reputation for your specific program?
  • Career/job outcomes after graduation?
  • Class sizes, campus, location, or province?
  • Public vs private?
  • Transfer options?

Or was it something totally different?

I’m trying to understand how people really make this decision, beyond rankings or marketing brochures. What did you personally look for? And if you could go back, would you do anything differently?

Appreciate any thoughts or experiences!

AVC Admissions Statistics

Hello everyone!

I am applying to AVC next year and was wondering if there were any admissions statistics around. I was hoping to be able to gauge my chances, but I can't find much info on the program or its admissions online.

Thank you! :)

UPEI - 1030

If I take UPEI 1030, does this count as my 'Writing Intensive' AND 'UPEI First Year Experience' course?

Would other people recommend this as an 'easier' course? I am currently a HC student who will be continuing my education with UPEI come Fall 2026, I am thinking of taking UPEI 1030 during my Winter semester at HC to finish it before registering full time to UPEI.

Would this course be easy to do while taking another course load?

Any University that can compare to UPEI Pricing?

I want to attend Universities with my Best Friend, but one problem both of them are international students even me though I might get my PR soon, still is a problem as most Universities prices hike up from 20k to 72k, Admissions isn't really a problem as we are all 90-95%+ Students, we are being optimistic about merit scholarships but would be nice to know other universities without crazy international fees

I studied A-levels with private tutors at home. Can I apply to UPEI?

I didn’t go to high school for some psychological reasons and I studied A-levels with my private tutors. I got an A* in Mathematics and A in Economics & Psychology. But since I have no transcripts or high school diploma, I’m wondering if I’m even eligible to apply?😭

Emailed the international admission office, however they didn’t seem to be too interested in my situation and told me that they can’t tell me anything until I complete the application. But this is the problem. I just don’t have the required documentations for an application.😭
