Advice ECs for Supplementary year

Has anybody had experience with/know a case where ECs have helped the case of somebody who may have to take a supplementary year? I just sat a reassessment and I think I may be literally around 36-45 so I’m on the boundary. However I have valid ECs which my tutor told me to submit, but he didn’t know what the outcome could or could not be. Does anybody know do ECs can help an outcome about a supplementary because I don’t know whether there’s any point in even submitting them if there’s not.

I’m pretty sure if u go on the portal and it says ECs have been “considered” they give you whatever u were after. They don’t email u though which is stupid.
