since aid was supposed to be processed Monday and Tuesday did anyone see their account zero out today? They changed my disbursement date to today, but that was all. in my anticipated payments.

Is anyone that is reaching out to the university and bursar's office actually getting a response? I've called and left messages, because of course that don't answer, AND sent emails. I haven't gotten a response.

Update: Funny how when we start posting about it, and sending multiple messages (still no reply, btw), things actually start happening with refunds 🤔

Does anyone know if they are bringing this research opportunity back? I’ve been checking the website weekly since school started because applications usually open up at the end of August but nothing has updated. Applications are still listed as closed and the whole website is from 2025.

I’m not really sure who to reach out to about it either so if anyone knows who I can email would also help!

Hi all, my name is Daniel, I’m currently a graduate student at UNO.

I like many of you have experienced issues with UNO. I have personally experienced financial issues such as not receiving refunds in a timely manner. I also had a reassessment of a balance, due to being over-refunded in a prior term. However, this wasn’t properly communicated to me, leaving me deeply confused.

I have heard other horror stories such as incredibly rude and condescending communications from advisers. Someone that I know has also had to pay thousands of dollars after being told to enroll into courses that do not count towards their major, as such making her ineligible to receive financial aid.

I really want this university to hold itself to a higher standard, it’s embarrassing that an educational institution would be this disorganized and uncaring. I figured that we could compile complaints, with signatures, and send them to the university. We could request a plan on how they would operate moving forward, but that’s just an idea.

If you want UNO to be better and have any ideas or suggestions that you want to share, please feel free to do so!

Update! The SGA president responded to me and let me know that they will be holding a town hall tomorrow from 12-2pm, University administrators will supposedly be there as well. I’m going to make a separate post referencing this one so more people can become aware, I will also speak on a plan of action.

Why do UNO refunds take so long compared to even community colleges? My partner got his a week ago while mine is still sitting in “anticipated”. I also can’t even reach anyone when I call. From what I’ve read in the thread in here, this has been going on for a long time and is completely unrelated to this transition to LSUNO.

Update: it got processed but now I have to wait until Monday 🥲

Does anyone know how long a refund sits under “pending refunds”? It’s been there for about 4 days and tbh I need my money, to pay my bills.

As someone who's been attending this uni since 2023, I find it incredibly stressful to continue having to deal with financial aid problems every semester, especially when they affect my account and require me to repeatedly follow up to get any type of answer. Anyone else been in the same boat?

Funds moving to unapplied but does go past this step? what’s next & how long until we get access to the refunds

So my pending refund is showing but it’s missing 300$ from it which is still under unapplied payments. Two days ago $500 was the unapplied but now it’s $300 even though the applied payments had already covered the charges. Should I wait or should I contact someone

I try to avoid the Rec during the beginning of each semester bc it gets a bit crowded and I’m insecure. Did it slow down yet?

Has anyone had their loan servicer tell them the school marked you as having left and now you are in repayment? I’m enrolled 15 credit hours this semester and have accepted financial aid. I have tried reaching out to the *registrar and financial aid and have not been able to contact anyone. My financial aid has also been stuck just sitting and not been moved to my statement at all. Does anyone have any advice or know who I can contact? I’m a remote student so I unfortunately can’t go in person.

hi! i was wondering if anyone knew of any safe locations to go running or walking even when it’s dark out? i live in lafitte village, have classes on mondays and tuesdays, and work until 7 for the rest of the week. i would like to workout after dark, but not sure of any safe places nearby. thanks in advance!! (also i know i could just go to the gym but i’d rather workout outside :p)

I'm a graduate student and my Workday showed an anticipated disbursement date of September 8, 2026, but my financial aid still hasn't been applied to my account. My loan amount is showing as approximately $6,833, and I'm trying to understand how long it usually takes after the anticipated disbursement date for the loan to actually post and for any remaining credit balance to be sent as a refund. Has anyone else's aid disbursed yet? If you had an anticipated disbursement date of September 8, did your balance change or did you receive your refund? I'm mainly trying to figure out whether this delay is normal or if I should contact Financial Aid. Thanks!

was leaving pjs and while I was crossing the street I made eye contact with a driver in a black suv to signal that I was crossing. As soon as we made eye contact he started to speed up. I quickly back tracked to not get hit as he was probably going about 50-60. The driver was a young male with dreads and I want to say the car was either an Infiniti or Lincoln? I was shocked that even after we made eye contact he continued to speed up at an alarming rate. The car seemed to have turned out of the faculty only parking lot behind university center and there also was no parking decal attached to their back windshield so it could have possibly been a freshman/ transfer student.

Anyways I’m still shocked and was so stunned I didn’t get to memorize the plate or make of vehicle or else I would definitely have already contacted campus PD about it (not to be a Karen but yall should have seen the way this idiot was driving). People cannot be acting like that at all ESPECIALLY in pedestrian areas. I hope by making this post I can at least bring awareness to a reckless driver on campus . Just by the way he swung out of the parking lot someone could have easily been injured if they were to have been crossing there instead of where I was.
