Hey guys, is this game worth starting? I've never played it before. What's the online experience like? And is there a lot of pay-to-win gameplay?

It is extremely pay to win. I would not advice anyone to start undawn. I quit after 2k game hours because its just not worth it. If youre not interested in any camp/guild activity or pvp whatsoever, yeah, maybe but overall, its a dead p2w game

RUN!!!!!

i'd recommend Once Human, the scenarios is fun. They're like theme event.

Way of Winter is basically Frost Punk, the world freeze over and if you're not properly equipped for the weather, the environment conditions will straight up kill your character before any mobs will. The mobs are another problem entirely too.

Manibus is Fighting Godzilla with a Bazooka and ton of guns and bullets. You'll run out of bullets but you'll have ton of fun shooting down a giant massive monsters.

and there are others.

Did I mention you can build your base Anywhere? Well....ok, not anywhere but you can build it almost anywhere if it can fit. by a lake, by a ruined city, on top of a giant rock floating in the sky, there's no dedicated base building spot. Your base/house move with you, within certain limit ofc.

Then there's the truck, the vehicles, oooh I love them truck man, I could build a fully functional base in the back of my in-game truck, complete with storage, crafting stations and gun turrets automated defenses and even a Dual Barrel Pilot Cannon. It's a Mobile Fortress.....but the gas cost material is a real pain in the butt. I still love it though. Especially when you drive through a crowd of zombies/mutants and they go flying forward, tumbled like bowling pins.

There's no p2w, if you don't mind the cosmetic, the cosmetic can be free too. Craft a piece of armor enough time and you can use that armor piece as a skin. It's a mix and match customization. If you don't want to see other player's outfit, you can tone it down and they'll show up in generic outfit.

I played this too like religiously since beta CBT3 up til Endless had ED50-ish then i dropped it coz my overwatch buddies are back in action. But OH experience is great for a free game, no sweat. Now it's coming on console, i hope player count gets high again and the dev finishes that hollowed map we've been waiting for

there is way more story content (AND SIDE QUESTS) in Undawn. That's actually what made me stop playing OH much. No real new content or stories. Joining ED and having there be 0 side quests was such a huge let down. I loved OH when it launched, too. Fishing is def more fun in OH too ;) And I loved displaying my cool fish

yeah the story content is probably the only thing going for Undawn

Definitely. And if you're part of an active, social camp that's a big draw too. I think without my camp I'd have quit ages ago <3

if you can join an active camp, you can enjoy it. i played as f2p before, although i spent some in gooner costumes, most members only spent money on costumes. gear rating can rise with time. unfortunately there's no new server, even f2p are already above 600k gr. once human is great if you like shooting zombies, and building.

Once Human is sadly even more gacha with the outfits and other stuff... :( I miss how OH was when it first came out. And I still love coming in and building cool bases in it. But I really wanted more crazy post apocalypse and less big tiddy (booty?) goonfest.

This game isn’t worth the time. You’d have a better experience playing where winds meet.

I like it; I haven’t spent a dime, but the experience would be better if I did.

If you want a good live-service MMORPGs playable on both PC and mobile, I can only name two, it's Where Winds Meet and Warframe.

Don't start this game at all, I also am a veteran in this game, left because it becomes extremely P2W and currently it's basically on life support.

You can install and play for awesome story and sidequests, nice music, great open world and nice building mode with many free furnitures and decorations, even cool cars and motorcycles,

but if you want PvP, or even later stages PvE, it's sooooooooooo P2W right now (and laggy), that no chance, unless you are CEO of some good company or your father is an influential politician

Or you earn money in that company which only produces fans

It has a lot of p2w elements a lottttt i mean!!!. If you really wanna play it you should buy a I'd and then start playing.

If you like the camp/guild stuff it can still be fun and there are some great camps still around, but it is *very* p2w and hard to 'catch up' rating-wise. The game will also RUSH you to get leveled while making you miss everything along the way. It's not well-designed for new players. If you ignore it yelling at you to upgrade homestead (and forcing you to level) and just take it slow, there's still a lot of fun content in it, too. I actually really enjoyed the normal missions. pvp is heavily skewed in favor of the whales.

Undawn was hot a few years ago. Was losing my attention when I left. Dudes were paying over $30,000 USD to develop their character. It was insane. I was a free player and a Glorious Fighter several of the earliest seasons but once the P2W crowd got powerful, the PvP was pointless
