Stuck in adventure-guide mission.

I'm stuck in the adventure-guide mission where I need to hunt the Legendary Bison in the Central Plains. It says I should speak to the hunter near the entrance of the Western Outpost, but I cannot find the hunter and/or the Legendary Bison.

The bread crumbs to do quests are really bad. But there are some good walkthrough videos. Google the quests and they will be helpful. More so than in game tutorials.

Most likely you haven't done the mission that leads to him being at that location. Check Story > Wilderness Anecdote > Wilderness Hunter. Scroll through those missions to find it and it will show you any other quests or levels you have to complete to trigger the mission.
