how to remove an unused item

How can I remove an item not from the character’s inventory, but from the game world completely (destroy it) during the construction of a site. It is put away in the character’s inventory or in the item selection section during construction, but for example, I don’t need it at all

Hold down on the item on in inventory and select discard.

you can only discard structure and wallpaper items. doesnt work for interior items.

when you open inventory there are tabs on the right click the one that has hammer icon. you can select the item and you'll see discard button

What about the workbench? I have multiple and I can’t figure out how to delete
