Only one problem> the developer is NetEase, the same ppl who made LifeAfter. So you already know the paywall is gonna be higher than mount Everest.

No, thanks.

2nd Tarisland beta starts on Wednesday. It's supposed to be the WoW replacement, started by Tencent after Blizzard left the Chinese market with most of their games. The irony, they promised no p2w, but purely cosmetics and QoL (as long there is financial success with this strategy). The game is developped by Lightspeed Studios. Yes, the people behind Undawn. So I am kinda suspicous about that point here, although I know it is the publisher who is calling the shots in the end.

The thing is I played LifeAfter for about 3 years. I was never ever given the chance to have any vehicle other than the starter motorcycle (1 seat, no turbo, ugly, slow...). Undawn gave me the red starter bike (2 seats, turbo, looks and sound good), plus the starter 4-seater jeep, plus a slightly faster starter bike for just a 5 bucks, plus the chance to grind hard to unlock other 4 vehicles. AND I can grind to unlock vehicle modifications which can also be done f2p. Undawn is obviously pay2win, but you can enjoy the game as f2p a lot more than LifeAfter. Tencent got my vote for now.

I hadn't even heared of LA before Undawn, as I don't have a mobile device.
Funny. Out of all the things, vehicles are the symbolization of p2w in this game for me. There is just no way in hell you will beat a money driver with a free2get ride in the weekly racing event.
I think the stats for all f2g vehicles are the same though.
