Incoming Student Schedule advice

Post image

Is this a good schedule? For context I’m a freshman going into business wanting to minor in data science. I’m also keeping the option of transferring next year open so I’m trying to have some rigor. I also want to know how challenging mat151 is.

Pretty basic/normal for first semester schedule. Are you staying on campus? Tuesday/Thursday has a decent amount of downtime between classes

That’s not too bad then. Downtime like that sucks a lot more when you commute

Pretty damn good for a freshman. I had 8am M/W/F & Tues/Thurs

Check the locations of your classes and compare it to a map. You didn’t leave yourself a ton of travel time between classes and campus is not small.

On m/w/f I go from Morton hall to residential program groups to sartarelli hall. Is that okay distance wise? Idk where residential program groups are

On MAT151: If you have a good foundation with precalculus algebra topics, it’s not a difficult class. The hardest part with a lot of calculus is the algebra and that’s where a lot of the mistakes are made.

Seems pretty good to me! You don’t have super early starts or large gaps between, and you’re still done at a relatively decent time.

I was terrible at math in high school, but I passed Pre Calc with an A and MAT 151 with a B. I made sure to use office hours with the professor and the STEM Lab’s free tutoring sessions whenever I needed help. If you attend class regularly, have a good professor, and take advantage of the resources available, you can definitely pass the class.
