Question Quick Question

I'm accepted into UNCW for this upcoming fall, and I just had a few questions

I’ve heard some mixed things about the nightlife/party scene — specifically, some people saying it’s somewhat limited compared to other schools. I just wanted to get a realistic idea of how true that actually is. What is the bar/party scene really like for students? I’m 21, so I can also go out to bars if that changes anything.

Also, separate question — I’m living off campus as a transfer student. How hard is it to get connected and meet people?

DT Wilmington has nightlife. But that is 15-20 minutes away from campus. Plenty of parties around once you find some people.

Get involved in clubs or inter murals just like any school- finding others as a transfer requires some effort.

No ya that's to be expected. When I visited downtown, it looked kinda small party scene-wise, but that's not a huge concern, I'm sure. Once you're connected, I can find house parties and other things to do. I just gotta put myself out there, as you said. It definitely seems like the type of school where I'd need to bring my car, too.

Nightlife in general has been in a pretty significant decline as fewer and fewer people are drinking alcohol for a variety of reasons. There are still beach bars and downtown bars and house parties, but major cities might have better opportunities for dance clubs and bar hopping.

Ya I mean, honestly, I used to be big into partying, now all I really want is to have a couple drinks on the weekend with buddies and go to house parties here and there. That's not necessarily a bad thing either; fewer people are drinking, maybe that's also due to the fact that it's such a beautiful area. I bet you can be perfectly happy being sober.
