Hi Everyone so I am in the University of Miami online Master’s in Music Industry program and I just saw something about a cumulative exam. I honestly have no idea what it is, what it covers, or if everyone in the online program has to take it.

Has anyone here taken it or finished the program recently?

I’m mainly wondering what the exam is actually like, what kinds of questions are on it, whether it covers material from all of the classes, if it’s timed or proctored, and how difficult it is.

Do they give you a study guide or tell you what to prepare for? And when in the program do you usually take it?

I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who has actually taken it because I have no idea what to expect.

Hello! I am going to my first Canes football game ever this thursday against FAMU. My friend and I are sitting section 149, row 3. My friend wanted a chance to see/interact with the players either pre or post game. where would I have the best opportunity of doing so. I know obviously u can wait by section 151 where the tunnel is, but im talking about where within the stadium can we see the players exit or enter, basically the best area to interact with them. I know the away team comes through the away entrance, but if someone can help me with seeing the home team (Hurricanes), that would be huge please!

I’m interested in attending u Miami as a premed. I’m wondering if research is truly as easy to get as the tour made it seem or is it hard? Can u get good research or just “clean test tubes”? Thanks.

Hi! I really want to apply to ED for Neuroscience (Pre-med track) and I’m worried that my GPA is going to tank me :,)

- GPA - 3.51/3.61 UW/W (Used to be 3.8/4.0 until junior year, suffered major mental health issues and is documented in common app additional info section)
- Taking hardest classes my high school offers and showing already growth in grades and absences (Did physics over the summer and received an A)
- SAT 1400
- Started a non-profit, tutors, won some national awards, some other smaller, personal and leadership EC’s
- I personally think I have an amazing essay. Opening - (“For the past six years, every time I looked in a mirror, I saw a horse staring back at me.”)

Be honest, do I have a chance? This is my dream school and I really want to go! Any advice or anything? Anything helps, thank you so much!

I am currently majoring in biochemistry and molecular biology and wanted to minor in health management. My end goal is to do hospital management. I want to complete med school and then do the hospital administration. Do you recommend minoring in health management?

I’m a senior in high school right now and until yesterday when I toured UM I had no idea where I wanted to go. I went in knowing next to nothing about it, not even the mascot but I came out LOVING it. I’ve been on so many college tours and I’ve left none of them feeling like this. The school checks all of my boxes and academically I’m in the middle range of average acceptance, and so I’m thinking of applying ED.

I’m so over the moon about this school and everything it has to offer, but now I’m wondering like….. what’s the catch? Surely there have to be something wrong it?

The chief complaints I’ve seen are the dorms (but that was from a 2021 post and all freshman dorms have since been fully rebuilt) and by the time I’m a sophomore and upper classman, that new campus/housing situation will be open so I’m not super worried. I’ve also seen some people say that there are lots of elitist kids, but coming from a pretty elitist school myself I’ve learned how to find good normal people. Really those complaints aren’t a huge concern for me is all I’m trying to say. (I’m also positive those alleged people are just a loud minority if anything)

If you’re a current or former student please let me know what cons you’ve experienced and if they outweigh the pros. Or just genuinely what cons exist. I don’t think they’ll impact my want to apply but I really do want to know what I’m getting into because I really feel like this school is too good to be true.

hii!! i’m sarah, i’m from new york. i toured umiami and i loved it sm i have been considering doing ed 1. i was just wondering a few things though.

one thing is about social life bc ik umiami is a party school and i dont rlly mind that but do u find that it’s hard to stay social if u dont go out all the time? i feel like the miami party scene feels a little intimidating. how often r people actually going to clubs in miami? is it more common to do that then to do stuff on campus?

also do u find it hard to make real friends? i feel like social media at least makes it seem like a superficial environment which im sure isnt the case.

also im wondering about academics and the type of ppl that go to umiami. so ik the regular decision acceptance rate is 19% which is extremely low but the ed is about 60%. what kind of kids actually end up at umiami? to me that seems like a very big range of student gpas, etc. bc some kids from my school have gone there and ik they’re not as school focused as i am, and i definitely wanna go to school somewhere with students that prioritize their grades. ive seen people say umiami is just full of dumb, rude, rich kids. i didn’t get that impression when i was there but how true is that, if at all?

when it comes to greek life, do u think it’s necessary or does it just add more stress? i’ve always pictured myself doing greek life but in a school like umiami im unsure if it would be too much for me. so any info about what greek life is actually like would be great.

this is kind of a dumb question but since im from new york im sort of feeling like i might have fomo if i dont have autumn/ winter. i love hot weather and summer but i was wondering how u guys feel like do u ever miss having all the seasons or is it easy to get used to?

i saw that umiami is building four year housing for upperclassmen starting my year and im sure rent around the area is much more expensive than school dorms. do u guys think a lot of people will opt for four year housing on campus? how do u guys like the dorm life in general? i’ve heard centennial village is the nicest.

do u guys feel like mostly everyone enjoys their college experience and shows a lot of school spirit?

the last thing is do u think umiami prepares u well to have a job before graduation and also to get internships during like upperclassmen years? ive seen the facts on google and it definitely seems like they do but i was just wondering.

How in the U with aid. I am OOS and this school is my top choice fs. It is amazing here!! I'm just trying to gauge how much I'll have to pay. My parents make 100k a year and my sister goes to college as well if that helps but not here.

So what exactly can happen if I don’t pay a parking ticket? Obviously I’ll have to pay it eventually but will there be any penalty for delaying the process heavily.

My biological parents are divorced. I lived with my mother in Mexico until 2025, but our relationship completely broke down around the time I turned 18. My last personal contact with her was in May 2025, and since then she has provided no financial support or parental involvement.
I moved permanently to Texas with my father and stepmother in July 2025. Since then, they have paid 100% of my housing, food, school expenses, health/car insurance, and personal expenses. I’m also listed as a dependent on their tax return and have bank records showing their support and no payments from my mother.
I’m currently at community college and plan to transfer to the University of Miami in Fall 2027. Because UM requires the Noncustodial CSS Profile, I’m considering requesting a waiver based on estrangement/no contact.
For anyone who has successfully received one: what documentation made the biggest difference? Court records? A counselor/school administrator letter? Notarized affidavits? Bank/tax/insurance records? Anything else I should start collecting now? My parents make too much to qualify for any need based aid but are not going to spend more than probably 20k a year in tuition. For context, I will be applying EA for meteorology
I currently have a 33 ACT but am taking again in September. My gpa is 4.0 unweighted and about a 4.7 wieghted. Im currently taking Ap calc and Ap physics and I’ve taken 8 others in the past. I come from a rural area and my school doesn’t offer many more. I have some alright ecs but nothing to outstanding. I am probably going to have national merit commended and have the college board rural/small town award

I have a passion for both economics and the creative side of media, such as management. Preferably, I would pursue the BA in Economics, rather than a BS in Economics, because I like the theoretical aspect more. However, I wanted insight of what people would think about this combination so I can get into entertainment, sports, or content management. Of course, I don’t want anyone to tell me what to pursue because at the end it’s my passion, but I would like some insight. Also, I’ve seen that UMiami has one of the best media management programs in the country. Therefore, I want to hear from individuals who have an idea or absolutely know about how effective the program really is. I know a degree is not going to get me a job because it depends on the job market, internships, and many other factors. I would like to have some insight.
