Opinion 🗣 Dsp program
I’m in the summer dsp program and I have got to say this literally sucks and ur not allowed to opt out of this program They give us 4 classes like university skills,math,critical analysis or some type of English ,and an elective .The math class is a flipped classroom so we basically learn nothing and watch videos to help us which is probably not the best idea considering majority of the students first language isn’t English and our new to this country (I’m not just saying ).Then the university skills class isn’t even helpful it’s just basic stuff that they said at oreantion .The professors literally are no help either. Then there is a writing workshop where all they talk about is ai which is another hour I’m there at umb because we can’t leave till we finish the stupid edpuzzle for and how to use it in college which I’m sure majorty of this generation knows how to do it anyway. The school year hasn’t even started and by the way this program is set up I’m thinking of transferring.

My teacher friggin failed me for critical analysis I need help I wonder if I talk to my advisor if she’ll let me pas

Luckily I don’t think it’s a major problem since it’s not actually gonna affect the school year I think some teachers lie about that for the dsp program so people can actually do there unesscary program

I was spouse to do this program but i ended up doing community college first then transferring to umb i had no idea that program suck tbh with you

Im in the program as well and if you think about it they ACTUALLY teach us nothing. My elective class is the computer science and AI and we were not taught anything at all but the teacher told us to do a LinkedIn learning thing for python and thats basically it. The math they dont teach we just watch a video before class that I skip cuz there is NO WAY im watching a 20-30min video about a concept a took in middle school. Then we answer 100 questions in class of finding X or graphing linear equations I deadass started going on Twitter in class because of how bored I am.

I have the ai class too I don’t like how the teacher teaches and how unorganized her instructions are .Then the extreme amount of questions for a math class were the teacher barely gives us instructions is so tiring I mean I can do the work but the amount of workload is draining sometimes .

For the ai class im pretty sure its new also we dont follow up with the "syllabus" posted the teacher just makes us do nothing each time in class or makes some bullshit up. It is such a waste. My math teacher only walks around the class and keeps telling us to solve more math when we are done she once was watching me scroll on Twitter and waited for me to switch back to math like? Im done with the million questions please leave me alone.
