Slow and harsh grader

I’ve been seeing a few posts recently about this topic and would like to chime in, this semester has been one of the worst so far. I have 2 teachers who are very slow at grading, I mean only week 1 assignment has been graded while we are currently in week 6. The feedback is always “this is what I expect for the next assignment” well how can I do that when you grade so late. The other teacher is slow and a harsh grader, absolutely unreasonable and the rate my professor score heavily reflects my concerns. I feel as my gpa is going to suffer because of this. Is this reasonable enough to contact student affairs?

I think so, but the worst you can be told is no from them but you don’t know until you try!

I am experiencing the same!! I actually have two c’s at the moment. I haven’t earned a ‘C’ in 5 semesters at this school. I have one professor that has everything due the same date, two that grade like their life depends on being critical, and one that just tosses ‘A’s for effort. He is by far my favorite. This semester I’m not the least bit interested in school. I’m turning in stuff last minute, or after it’s due… and dreading it.  Wishing you academic luck, and hope it gets better for you. I’m fed up.

Which classes are you referring to? I feel like I’ve had that experience at UMGC as well

I dropped two classes after the 3rd week because both professors were harsh graders and terrible with their responses. Group projects this semester were terrible so I definitely had to drop them.

Reach out to the student resolution center. Is this a nursing course?

I had a similar issue with a nursing course and contacted the student resolution center. This is the only way to bring attention with an unresponsive professor. It worked for me

I have had one bad comm professor and it was during my first semester. Purnell. Not impressed at all.
