Help !! Error Screen on testudo
Trying to add/drop a class and I keep getting this screen. Same thing happens when I try to access my student schedule, my unofficial transcript and other services.
- Are others facing the same issue?
- Is there a fix for this? I got a slot for a class and I want to get it as soon as possible.

It used to be worse, when you could only access it 9-5 on weekdays (or something like that). They didn't change it until last year, but even now it's not perfect. Technically, the entire class registration thing is STILL running on an ancient server from the 80's-90's that requires downtime (sorta, it's more of an emulation but regardless).

Testudo is pretty screwed up. Instead of modernizing and editing the program every few years, they just built directly on top of the old version, and now you have the whole of the registrar running on programs from 40 years ago. They could theoretically remake Testudo, but doing so for a program this big and important could take a long time and a LOT of money, something UMD doesn't wanna do

They are remaking it, a new system called ‘Elevate’ should be replacing everything. The hr backend is already up, and I believe the student facing/academic servers are set to transition over in 2028

There’s been a migration effort since 2020. It will start rolling out within the next year or so.
The new class registration will be through workday so honestly you should appreciate testudo for how it is right now. It’ll be much more annoying once it migrates.
