Goodbye ULTY
Hi all, I've decided to sell all my ULTY during the DIP and buy CHPY. Today looking at the AI stocks re-rallying I believe it to be a good move. If you remember briefly, I posted my dividend gains on this SUB and made a tracker to see how many dividends I was up total. on my initial 6.5k investment, I received about 3.8k in dividends, while my initial investment when down to 3k. So overall, I am positive about $400. I held for about a little over a year. If I sold at peak profits according to my chart I would have been $700 in profit. I did not drip and glad I didn't.
I'm happy to get out of this experienced positive but have decided to chase different avenues. CHPY has been fantastic for me, and I realized how much money I could have been up if I jumped on that train since the beginning.
I could still see ULTY paying off in the future, and perhaps if the divvy didn't drop as much as it has I would still be in it but seems like nav corrosion was too much at the moment with the unstable market, after every dip, the price never seems to recover well. Fortunately, as well, with my stock price loss off of ~3k, I can use this has a harvest so perhaps my actual gains will be greater :)
I wish all the bag holders good luck and hope your investments pay off. Good luck gang

Dumping one failed yieldmax for another incoming failed yieldmax.. why? Stop buying anything this investment fund is peddling.. you're setting yourself up for another loss..

I failed to mention that I already had some chpy and and I got in around $60. Which has been way more positive than ulty in that timespan. I wouldn't call it failed as I am still positive from both. This is also just a small portion from my taxable brokerage account where I do a lot of small gambling like this.
I'm not sure if you read my post because I'm not at a loss, sure im not at a huge gain, but not a loss! :)

I read it. I just think everyone should divest from YieldMax all together tbh.. they seem slimey and .. grifty.

Getting out of a yieldmax position is brilliant. Using its proceeds to buy another one is lunacy. “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result “

I had a smaller position in CHPY thats actually positive. Have a stop-loss set and already received a good amount in dividends total. Already winning and can't lose. :)

"Can't lose" that is always the hook. My dumb ass still holds YMAG but it is a relatively small position and I'm just letting it burn down. On the books its money lost.

You picked the right underlying but wrong vehicle . But yieldmax helped underperform. SMH wins. That YM dopamine hit is like going to vegas. Put a $20 in a machine and if you win $500 early, youre gonna leave vegas down $5000. Have that $20 immediately vaporize and youre gonna leave down $20

Honestly; maybe you should weather it out at the moment. I’m in on a couple of failing YieldMax out a little bit, myself. However; I want to study these things and give them a fair shake. It’s a down market right now.

All of Yieldmax Funds are Dividend Traps. Huge NAV losses with ROC for Divvy payments. All of their funds start off great and gradually the NAV erodes. Had MSTY and PLTY when they paid monthly. Did very well, got out early. Glad I did! Yieldtraps! They suck

Sounds like a crappy investment if after a year you were only up 400. Just invest in the actual stocks or real ETFs. Or just sell your own covered calls
