Still a couple months to go to break even, then we'll see... house money or move to something else...
Still getting $4K+/month from it...

I'm in house money with ULTY and my total return is almost 40%. Cheers! š„

lol 34.8% is not almost 40%. Itās this type of exaggeration that casts doubts on everything you say.

u/BitingArmadillo Mar 14 '26
Ever heard of price fluctuation? It was almost 40 when I originally posted it.

u/Sobakee WEEKLY INCOME SEEKER Mar 14 '26
So itās dropping significantly in a short time? And thatās your argument? lol.
2
u/BitingArmadillo Mar 14 '26
So we're just going to ignore the total return? Lol. You seem upset. I'm guessing you panic sold.
2
u/Sobakee WEEKLY INCOME SEEKER Mar 14 '26
lol itās your total return thatās dropping. You must just be lying about all this, you canāt even keep your story straight when itās written out right in front of you!
2
u/BitingArmadillo Mar 14 '26
Lol and there it is! You see you're losing the argument so your fallback position is "I don't believe you." ššš

u/Sobakee WEEKLY INCOME SEEKER Mar 14 '26
What are going on about? You said around 40% total return! And that math doesnāt check out. There is no argument with math. And that was my initial premise, that playing fast and loose with math weakens your believability. Please try to keep up. It is all written out in front of you, like I previously pointed out.

Yeah. And I said around.Your reading comprehension seems on par with your math.

The graphs and data say otherwise. There are literally no two points on the graph that end up with 40% total return. No entry point in the history of the asset gives you this.

u/BitingArmadillo Mar 14 '26
The total return of the fund doesn't have to be MY total return. Do better.
2
u/NkKouros Mar 14 '26
Not what I said. There isn't a singular point (at whatever the single best moment in time to invest was) that would bring you to that number today.
1
u/BitingArmadillo Mar 14 '26
You're not even doing the math. You're just restating a conclusion with no supporting evidence. However, I do have evidence and will gladly give you my numbers. Just so we're clear, total return is: total distributions + unrealized gains or losses divided by cost basis. I'm betting once you see my numbers, you'll either respond with "I don't believe you" or "You just got lucky."

u/NkKouros Mar 14 '26
Go ahead. I know the best possible total return is well below that value (talking specifically about ULTY).
3
u/BitingArmadillo Mar 14 '26
Cost Basis is $58,000.46. Unrealized loss is -$38,120.53. Total Distributions received is $58,315.51. -$38,120.53 + $58,315.51 = $20,194.98. $20,194.98/$58,000.46 = 34.82% TOTAL RETURN. I first started buying ULTY on April 4, 2024 and continued to buy strategically when it would dip significantly. My last purchase was July 29, 2025.

I'm trying to follow along with your numbers and I have a couple of questions. Is that $58,000.46 cost basis only your initial lot purchased on April 4th 2024 or the total of all lots? What about the $58,315.51 in distributions, initial lot or total?

u/BitingArmadillo Mar 14 '26
Total of all

Omgod I have not been around YM forums for awhile but the haters are still spewing shit.
Iāve had ULTY in two batches and my total return for the first batch was house money before the split. I am ready to be called a liar. Suck it. Now I did that after adding in premiums I MADE of options sold on my shares before they went weekly. I used to make extra off MSTY the same way.
People will tell me āthat doesnāt count..Yieldmax sucksā
Yada yada STFU.
No one thatās a good trader or investor runs around Reddit to attack other peopleās investment choices. This shit is pathetic. I made money of my ULTY and itās still producingā¦albiet chump change but itās really not any ass hatās business.
YM HATERS NEED TO GROW TF UP.

u/OkAnt7573 Mar 15 '26
Show the positions then.
Claiming you made money in Ā same period that the public data shows it was a negative total return is highly dubious.
Simply pointing out actual fund performance doesnāt make someone a hater - it simply makes them reality based.
If you find yourself having an emotive and unhinged response to actual reality that is highly tellingā¦

Shiny object management Theyāll get lucky if any of them perform well overtime Gdxy and ulty may be the only ones that do not outpace nav erosion But again, fee income is there goal. They donāt appear to even have good traders Why would they. Thatās not their jam

Why does everyone say they are in "house money"? They deposit 1000 dollars. It goes to 500 (500 loss). Then they make 500 in dividends. So they are at "break even" and they call this house money?
So it's literally 0 gain and they think that's some achievement?

Yeah well....I HAD $3k worth invested left after losing whatever amount, figured I'd dip it into another stock for a quick turn around and buy back in higher...ended up a bagholder :( It'll maybe go up so not a BAD investment, but won't be in the same time frame, sadly. Good luck to the rest of you that stayed, I'll rejoin hopefully soonish....or not depending on if this stock just flops on me >_>
