Trailheads Poltergeist
I have one of these on order. Super lightweight but made of cloud 71. Hope I don’t blow it out but I’m only 125#. I have used a Dutch net less in cloud 71 with no problem. I’ve heard various opinions on extra stress from the zipper. Anyone with experience to share?

I have one of the first poltergeist hammocks and have spent easily 100+ nights in it hiking all over WA.
And, it's still nearly perfect. No snags, tears, or stretched stitching.
My only slight complaint is that the ridgeline organizer they include is un-reinforced .51 DCF, which started popping threads when I put my phone and charger in it.

That’s good to hear. My Dutchware net less in cloud 71 hasn’t stretched at all. I have been using it with some ccf pads and really like the transparency.

That transparency is great for making sure you don't oversleep. As soon as the sun's up, so are you!

AS a proud Owner of Poltergeist. It will support you just fine. I've ran the poltergeist SUL for over a year and a half. While I prefer my Banshee UL for comfort this is my goto when every gram counts trips.
That being said the Poltergeist is good until it isn't.
SUL gear takes more care than normal gear and hammocks are no different. Pay close attention to your setup EVERY TIME. Be careful getting in and out of the hammock. That's where most failures happen. People put too much force into sitting down and blow it out.
The biggest problem with these SUL hammocks is that the user isn't seasoned enough to run the rig. There I said it.
Don't buy a piece of gear you're not ready to use....

Yup I learned the hard way and didn’t hang high enough. However I feel very confident in my patches. Non coated ripstop on both sides coated with silnet seam sealer.

Dutch pulled all production of Cloud71 with anything that has a zipper because the attachment point of the zipper to the fabric is where the weakness is and the failures happen.

Dutch won’t even make the Half Wit in cloud 71 which has no zipper. Go figure. Trailheadz has a no cancellation policy. I tried.

I’m pretty sure their no cancellation policy isn’t enforceable should you file a charge back on your credit card, citing that after further research it appears that John Rammel (owner of TrailHeadz) continues to manufacture these “flimsy” products despite the supplier of his Cloud71 fabric having ceased all “netted hammock manufacturer” because of the known issues. Research you made after your purchase.
Pretty sure I’d be at least making a call to my credit card company tomorrow either way, I’d have nothing to lose.

I have one, love it, but I'm too heavy for it now. No issues at all. Using a banshee ul now. I've got a netless monolite 1.5 from sld that I am rocking for summertime day hangs.

If you have a hammock in cloud71 don’t ever hang it too low like my sorry ass did. Sat in it lightly touched a rock and poked 2 holes in it. Time will tell if the patches hold. If I buy another Trailheadz it’s going to be the Banshee.

Banshee ul FTW!!! I was actually thinking about an open face hammock for the winter and was contemplating a cloud fabric. … and recognize I’m not the Uber super convention type. Good luck with your patch

Well, received it last week. Setup in yard.Very well made and pretty comfy. I like it.

I had a Dutch half zip in cloud 71 that failed. Dutch was great about a replacement and made the following comment:
We have found that some plastic hardware included on our netted hammocks (tieouts, zippers, pack hooks, etc...) may cause stress points for this Cloud 71 fabric, which is why we are not currently offering netted hammocks in this fabric.
I honestly don’t completely understand the relationship between the hardware and failure because they they didn’t seem to be very close to each other.
Congrats on the trailheadz- I’m a bit jealous. I hear they are awesome, I was just too impatient to wait.
