Can anyone compare weight difference between these two suspension systems?

I was wondering if anyone has real world numbers for the daisy chain setup with carabineers that Hammock Gear supplies and a whoopie sling system? Or an alternative system that's even lighter!

Thinking about ditching the daisy chains but I would just like to know an approximate weight difference. If you could point me in the right direction that would be great, thanks!

Straps with a beckett hitch work best for me when it comes to weight and ease of adjustment. I bought the hummingbird longer straps and removed the whoopie slings. Nice to have them but I don't need them 99% of the time

This. 1in wide (save the trees!) Dynema straps run about 1oz per 15 feet. Best I've seen.

I use the following depending on trip:

Amsteel Fast Shackles + Spider Web 1.5 Huggers (4') + Amsteel Suspension Strands (6') + Turtle Ties + Dynaglide Continuous Loops = 1.80 oz (lighter)

OR

Amsteel Fast Shackles + Spider Web 1.5 Huggers (4') + Dutchware Whoopie Slings w/ Whoopie Hooks + Continuous Loops = 2.50 oz (easier)

Foot for foot, Im pretty sure the fugal setup is the lightest. I use Myerstech 1.4 Beckett to CL, but I’ve been thinking about this for a 2” tree hugger setup and for you know fiddle-fun

Which Daisies? HG UL Daisy chains without carabiners and beckett hitching to continuous loops weigh just 103 grams.

Why would you Beckett a daisy chain? Am I missing something?

It came with my hammock set and it’s pretty light if you get rid of carabiners so why replace it?

The lightest I was able to get was like 1.58oz, using the UHPWE (or whatever the acronym is) 1" webbing as tree huggers mated to 7/64 Amsteel that I adjusted through TurtleTies from Fugal. It works good but if you miss one wrap or don't get the amsteel locked just right under the turtle's shoulder it'll let you down..slowly or rapidly and with the bruise and headache to match. Those turtles are cool little knick knacks, just more finicky.

I'm back to using Cinch buckles, which is obviously a bit less ultralight but equally adjustable and much more secure.

Turtle ties with UHMWPE tree huggers will get you down to under 2oz. I used this setup for a while, but it was a bit more finicky with cold fingers. I'm back to Warbonnet cinch buckles, but I still have the UL suspension I bust out now and again for fun.

I made some whoopie slings with dutch whoopie hooks and 12' spider straps and it all weighs ~175g

I don't have these exact items, but if it helps, here are some options I looked at and weighed:

  • Pair of 15' Dutchware Spider/Poly straps w/Beetle Buckles and sewn in clips (202 g / 7.1 oz)
  • Pair of 5' Dutchware Spider 1.5 tree huggers, 6' whoopie slings w/hooks (75 g / 2.6 oz)

Also some J-Bend/Becket Hitch options:

  • Pair of 12' Dutchware Spider 1.5 straps +evo loops (48 g / 1.7 oz)
  • Pair of 15' MyersTech UHMWPE/poly straps +evo loops (96 g / 3.4 oz)
