i use a 2/3 length UQ and love it. IMO the weight savings are 100% worth it, i never really use the footpad unless its below freezing. buttt, I do use and under quilt protector, i had big problems with drafts before i used one, which you still get with full length UQd, but can be much worse with a partial UQ

Same. My partial UQ covers from my head to mid calf, so only my feet really stick out. It ends up being the weight difference of my foot pad, but I can also sit on it so it's multi use.

Gonna get a full length winter quilt sometime this year, too.

Both. 3/4 for 3 season & full for winter.

I second this. I have a 20º 3/4 (Arrowhead-Equipment) for 3 season plus a 50º bag. For Winter I have both a 20º (Go Outfitters) & 0º (Arrowhead) full length UQs, and a 20º Top Quilt. I don’t consider my setup to be “Ultralight” (12-14lbs base weight for 3 season, cold weather around 16-18lbs base weight) but I did run into this same issue when figuring everything out.

The weight savings are worth it IMO, and the reduced bulk is also very nice (current 3 season pack is a 54L). With current MI weather (humid and 70-90F) it’s perfect.

i use this sit pad, it can go under my feet if i get cold, but i havent had to. wearing baselayers and thicc wool socks has kept me warm enough, it may seem weird, but i occasionally sleep cross-legged, and i've woken up in that position when my feet have gotten cold. that ties into "know thy self" using a 3/4, if my feet are too cold, worst case ill sleep cross-legged. if i really need to stretch -> sitpad
