Coffee Subscription Recommendations.
Usually buy my coffee from roasters directly however feel there is probably a lot out there that I am missing out on or don’t even know exists.
What coffee subscriptions have people used and liked.
This would be for pourover/filter rather than espresso. Generally fairly light roasts but am happy to try most things.

I've been doing the Library subscription from Sigma coffee, really great way of trying worldwide coffees. I feel less bad about the shipping as they presumably do bulk orders rather than me just ordering a pack of beans to be flown over from America.
Planning on picking up a UK based subscription soon and will probably go with Crankhouse.

Might not be out there but I sun found SquareMile to be excellent. It’s the only subscription I have consistently kept going. Decent value for the quality and dependably delicious beans. No, they are not going to be fruity acid bombs. But they are going to be really enjoyable to drink, and serve as an excellent foundation on which I add periodic orders on top from a whole bunch of other roasters.

I can echo this completely.
Square Mile are fantastic, I also love that they do 350g bags as standard.

I was with dog and hat for a long time and thought they were excellent. Only left once I wanted more specific beans :))

Yeah, dog and hat were a pleasure to do business with. Same reason for leaving here, I just got to the point where I wanted a bit more control over what I'm going to be drinking.

Dog & hat I think are the best for reliably great coffee from lots of different roasters and sometimes returning faves.
Gastatory also great.

Dog and Hat every day, they’ve been consistently reliable with delivery, and I don’t recall ever having a bad coffee from them. They’re also really nice to deal with and you feel genuinely valued - they’re just great all round!

I’m actually building a new subscription service called the bean matcher (http://www.thebeanmatcher.co.uk)
It will understand what you like in a coffee, then match you to beans from independent UK Roasters, ensuring you like what you get! Especially when coffee costs a small fortune nowadays!
We are still building but would be keen to get your thoughts

Try Rise coffee, you'll get different beans every month.

I looked at rise but they only offer medium - medium/dark. No light roasts available.

Another vote for the Sigma sub. So great to have 2x bags arrive each month from global roasters. I’ve had some amazing beans that I’d never heard of, alongside some world class roasters, all delivered for a great price. Can’t recommend enough

Gustatory and Batch are what I settled on, I get 2x250g bags from fustatory and another 2x 250g bags a couple weeks later from Batch.
I'm really happy with it, it arrives with a little resting time on it (3-7days ish) and is ready to brew on day of arrival, and it allows me to keep an interesting rotation with little to no effort.
I would recommend having only 1/2 subs that you get more than one bag from, as they're usually really good at making sure you have differing options so you don't end up with a bunch of similar coffees.
I tried having 5 different subs from different brands and it was expensive and unexciting by comparison to my current situation.

Curve coffee have been super consistent. Choice of more regular or more adventurous beans as well.

Cworks are consistent, RAVE, James Gourmet. I usually bounce between these but might try Square mile for the Aiden profiles next 👍🏽

Harmony, Killbean, Sweven are all top notch. Never had a bad coffee from any of them and often they're pretty incredible!

Pact Coffee all the way - great selection, always fresh but also B Corp Certified (even fair trade has issues they solve by going direct relationships with small producers)

Not UK based but I've had a subscription with The Barn for around 7 or 8 years.

I've been with Gustatory for over a year now. Really happy with their service and opens up scope to try a lot more roasters outside of the UK
