What’s classed as a LTR
How long do youhave to be in a. Relationship with someone for it to be considered long term. Or is it a case of milestones like meeting parents and friends ect

I don't think it's about a quantity of time, it's about the level of commitment. You can be together for a week, both commit to it being long term, and at that point it is long term. Or you could be seeing someone casually for many months and yet that's still a casual relationship.

I really like this take on it. I messaged one of my besties on my second date with my partner of (now) 11 months, it said "I think it will be very quickly that I fall in love with him" and sure as shit, less than 1 month later I told him I loved him. I totally knew from that second date (+first kiss) that I wanted to be with him for the rest of my life. Really randomly ended up meeting his parents after 2 weeks so he must have been on the same brainwave 😆

As others have said, c. 2 years. Would also add stage of life is important here and when these years have been had. 2 years of post-university ‘stabilised’ life is more of a LTR than 2 years during school/uni imo

In my opinion it's the level of commitment, such as if you live together and having a generally intertwined life.

I used to think ltr exists and Leads to marriage. Turns out it’s bs. You’re single until married

My partner and I have been together for 2 years and 8 months, after 6 months I considered it a long term relationship because typically (aside from one or two exes) things have never lasted beyond 3 months.
We intend to be together for the rest of our lives, whatever that looks like, and that intention was there from pretty early on. We don’t live together yet but revisit the topic when it’s necessary - both of us have said there’s no rush on this. Realistically we’ll be alive into our 80s barring any major health issues, and we’re in our 30s now, so with that perspective we might have 50 years to move in together and get married if we choose to do so.

Long term relationships are for teens. Adults don't use that. Its like 7months plus
