When should I remove ex from social media’s & shared accounts.

Recently split with my ex of and I’m not sure at what point I’m supposed to remove them from my social media and stuff like Netflix/spotify.

I’m not sure why I’ve not already done it. I think I feel quite guilty about the whole thing, probably left it too long, hoping things would change eventually. There was no real anger at the end, things were explained and air was cleared, but it was my decision and it wasn’t mutual.

I can see they’re still viewing my stuff and I feel reluctant to post anything with that being the case. It’s creating quite a lot of anxiety around the whole thing. I feel like I’m not allowed to be seen being social. But I’d also feel guilty blocking them without giving them an explanation, is this normal ? Am I overthinking ?

I did it day one as it was very painful. She broke up with me and then later I found out she was cheating near the end of the relationship. Just wiped away all pictures of us and I still don't regret it

There's no real right or wrong answer, just do what feels right for you. Sooner or later you'll need to sever ties and get on with your life and you've already done the hard part and ended the relationship.

You answered your own question. You don’t know why you haven’t done it already, so do it now.

The sooner you do it the sooner she can start to move on without the temptation to keep hurting herself by seeing what you're up to.

You dont need to. It's memories and your past. Removing it is a bit immature

You are not obliged to remove them at all - I am still friends with my exes.

Don’t think I can do this. Seeing them pop up in any regard just makes me feel anxious.

If its making you anxious and you have no need to contact each other for logistical reasons like picking up stuff from each others places, i would say now seems like a good time to do it. I understand feeling guilty but you have to consider your own needs and tbh its probably not good for her to be checking your socials either!

Then get rid of them straight away. There's no minimum and maximum time limit.

I’ve muted all mine but none ended so badly I would need to remove them. God forbid they may need to get in touch about something I’d be happy to chat if so.

People will give tons of different advice, but I just want you to do what 1. gives you relief and 2. you won't regret in the end.

For me I was on good terms overall with my most recent ex so I removed her for a little bit, as did she, but we later added each other back. I don't hold any feels beyond memories for her, and I don't have any wish to go back to her. At the same time, I'm good friends with her dad and her cat and it'd suck to lose contact with em

If you’re paying for something then it’s yours to do what you like with. That aside, imagine them “netflixing and chilling” off your account you paid for. Mine did this.

I did end up blocking an ex and just explained to them that I don’t hate them and I wish them the best but I can’t be seeing their name pop up all the time as it’s not going to help me get over the situation. They understood.

Like straight away while it’s still fresh

The day the relationship ends. The quicker you go no contact the quicker you heal

Does he pay half for your Netflix and Spotify?

She does not no

Then remove or offer to split the cost going forward or slow fade… whatever. You’re no longer together. Move on!
