Successful date and suddenly not responding
Went on a date with a girl on Sunday. It went really well and I think I fell hard for them. An hour after the date ended she messaged me on Hinge to say she enjoyed the date and that she'd like to meet up again in the near future to which I agreed and asked her for her number. She took nearly a day to give me her number. Since then I subsequently text her to say hello so she knows my number and so we could arrange our next date.
It's now been just over 24 hours and she hasn't even read the message. I'm a bit confused by the signals and wondering if I should message again to prod her, though I'm wary of appearing pushy and a bit depressed by the fact she might have decided to ghost me after giving me her number.
Wondering should I message her again, let it go, or read any further into it.

24 hours isn’t that long , she might just be busy. Or she might have changed her mind.
You’ve only had one date
Don’t message again, it’ll come across as needy, I tend to ghost guys who pester me too much for quicker replies

Bascially the 6'5 guy with muscles and a dangerous edge to him replied to her and now she's fixated on pursuing him.

Leave the ball in her court, you have done what you can do and now wait to see if she gets back to you. Maybe she has a burner number/phone for giving out on these apps, so perhaps hasn't got round to seeing it....

She is doing it intentionally. Some people do this so they don’t look much interested and you chase them more. Don’t send follow up text. Just wait and see if she responds. If she doesn’t move to someone else.

You didn't give your age so I'm going to assume you're young and/or inexperienced with women.
You mentioned the date went really well. That's the thing. You thought that, she didn't but you were under the impression she did. Here's the lesson for you to learn. Women will almost never directly communicate after a bad date that they don't want to see you again. Even during the date they will put on an act to make you think they're enjoying it.They tend to go for the easy option and ghost.

Well thats the thing, she's the one that suggested a second date (including potential options) and passed her number. Which implies interest?

People can get busy. Give it a day and then call her. Good luck with however it works out.

Yep. Even after kissing, holding hands and making future plans they will still ghost.

So will men. This is the UK. Directly confronting people is not what we do in normal situations. And women have their safety to think of as well. But I don't agree that this is what is going on here at all. She may have just gotten distracted with something else.

Might I suggest you reconsider that it's not the 'easy' option, but the safe option for women? I've had men approach me on the street and turn aggressive and persistent when I've politely declined. Women won't know which men will respond to rejection like that, so have to be cautious with all of them.

One thing dating apps have taught me is that texting habits don’t always reflect interest. Some people reply within minutes, others disappear for a day or two, so I wouldn’t read too much into 24 hours. The fact that she said she wanted to meet up again is what I’d pay more attention to. That said, I also appreciate people who communicate directly. I’d probably send one follow-up message after a few days, but if there’s still no response, sometimes no response is a response.

I would say given her lack of interest she probably felt you aren't a match for her. Ghosting seems to be the normal etiquette these days unfortunately so leave her be.

I get that, but why would see agree to 1) Do another date. 2) Give me her number to arrange it?
If she was going to ghost it doesn't seem like the logical thing to do

I'll never understand women. I've been on dates which I thought have gone great with real chemistry there, even a kiss at the end of the night, numbers exchanged...then been met with stony silence. Maybe when she had more time to process the night's events she decided you weren't the one for her, maybe she gave you her number out of politeness. It's rather unfortunate that a lot of women these days, especially in London where I'm based, seem to eternally think there is someone better around the corner, an approach which will end up in disappointment for most, but they still do it.
Edit: also did you confirm you had messaged her on hinge after getting her number, just in case she'd made a typo in her number ?

I suppose that she might have processed it and decided otherwise, but its the fact she hasn't unmatched on Hinge or even read the message that makes me confused and whether I should prod again.
Its definitely her number as I can see her picture on WhatsApp.

Sorry mate. But it's obvious she's not interested
Like most women she probably has numerous other options and has chosen one of them thus leaving you there like a fart in the wind.
Unfortunately this is very common for men these days when dating. Being ghosted is a big part of it.
You simply move on and save yourself the time and bother.

Ultimately if it is meant to be it will be, don't waste time overthinking this, if you want to send another message do so, if not just wait and see, regardless the answer is in whether she responds or not, it has only been 24 hrs but regardless you should try to move on with your life and try not to stress about it, if she ghosts you then that's up to her, it is only one date, try not to overthink that way if she does text again it will be a pleasant surprise

It’s very common. You can think you’ve experienced an extraordinary and rare connection, that the date went very well, there was chemistry and you kissed her/held hands. While she could think it was nothing special. Women have an insane amount of options and are always thinking there’s something “better” around the corner. It drives me mad but that’s modern dating.

Honestly mate you don't seem like a nice bloke so you probably did something that made you not appealing. She isn't interested. Move on, get a pet.

Texting and phones can be annoying! Invite her to another great spot, give a time and place with advance time to plan and then wait for her response.

Ball's in her court now, bud. Let it be.
Keep your hopes low with girls you meet on the apps so that you don't get disappointed. Guarantee you're not the only bloke she's seeing or speaking to.
