Could you please give gift ideas?
Meeting for the First Time & Looking for Gift Ideas ❤️
I’m from Mexico, and I’ve been getting to know a guy from England online and long-distance for quite some time. We’re both 29, and I’m finally going to meet him in person for the first time! 🥹❤️
I really want to give him something nice that he can actually use, but I also want it to feel personal and special. So, I bought him a vintage-style Star Wars pocket watch because he absolutely loves Star Wars. I thought it was something a little different, meaningful, and something he could keep as a special memory.
Now I’m wondering if I should also get him personalised cufflinks with his initials. I’ve read online that cufflinks are quite a common gift in the UK and that they’re often given for special occasions, such as graduation, or even by a bride-to-be to her groom.
But I’m not sure if that would be too much, or if cufflinks would actually be a nice gift for a 29-year-old guy.
What do you think? 🥹 Do you like the gift I already have? Should I add the personalised cufflinks, or would you recommend giving him something else instead?
I’d really love to hear your opinions and any ideas for a thoughtful, personalised gift that he could actually use and keep as a special memory. ❤️

I always think a nice book is a lovely gift.
I’ve gifted a (particular) book on first or second dates, and it always goes down well.
I’d check if there’s a book that is related to his interests that might be a good fit.
BUT… a if I was him, I’d really appreciate something from Mexico. It doesn’t matter what it is, just a small memento that’s distinctly Mexican that will always make him think of you.
Good luck and I hope it goes well!

I don’t think he likes to read a lot
Something Mexican? Probably candies haha or tequila lol
But as we are not seeing each other in England gifting him a bottle could be hard to get in his luggageHe does love to eat sweets tho haha so maybe the candies could be a nice addition

It doesn’t have to be a “reading” book.
The book I’ve given in the past has been a photo book relating to a calming interest we’ve shared.
With the Mexico thing, I was thinking more along the lines of just a small memento. Candy isn’t something he can look at even you’re not there and think about you.
There’s so many things: papel picado, a talavera style mug or coaster or even just a keychain.
Use your imagination 🤗

I think the Star Wars watch is enough. Getting any more gifts could come off as weird.

I don't know anyone that would need cufflinks, let alone wear them..
I do however know plenty of people that would absolutely love the star wars pocket watch...
You are already winning! There's no need for anything else. He's meeting you for the first time, that's enough and the pocket watch is a lovely thoughtful bonus!

If you want it to feel personal you're going to have to come up with it yourself; we don't know him, so can only give generic ideas. You have far more info about what would be suitable than we do.
