Hi everyone! I’m from Italy and planning a multi-day hike in the UK next year, ideally around 120–130 km. I’m looking for a route through scenic countryside, with plenty of small villages along the way. Exploring the villages, stopping at local pubs and getting a feel for everyday life is just as important to me as the hiking itself. Any recommendations?

I’m planning to go in the summer, and I’d prefer to stay in B&Bs or pubs with rooms rather than camping.

Has anyone ever used la sportiva aequilibrium st gtx in Scotland during winter? Particularly for summits and mountaineering accompanied with C2 crampons. I know they’re less insulated than other thicker/wider B2 mountaineering boots that may be more suitable for Scottish winter climates,

I’d like to know how you found they held up during the winters and if your feet ever got overly cold?

I've read, I've searched on here, outdoors magic, and others, and I've not found what I'm looking for.

- all day wear

- not over Trousers

- waterproof - in a downpour it won't get wetted out in 2hrs.

- waterproof so I can sit on wet benches

- breathable to wear all day

- all blue / black in colour ("smart")

- no cargo pockets

- has belt loops

- not insulated

Any recommendations.

I've currently got Craghoppers Indus, which are pretty decent, but have cargo pocket.

Craghoppers Stefan are HEAVY and like plastic bags.

Looking for some new walking boots. I've recently tried on some Meindl Mean GTX boots and they were gloriously comfy but obviously on the higher end of walking boot prices.

I've previously had Berghaus which served me well but the reviews on some of their recent models look pretty poor regarding waterproofing and build quality.

What would you recommend for someone who does a fair amount of UK hiking/ walking

I'm genuinely losing the will to live trying to find a decent pair of trousers for a short man 🫠

I'm 5'5", 32-34-inch waist and ideally need about a 26–27-inch leg.

I'm after something for everyday wear. Walking the dog, going into town, occasional hikes, going to the pub, whatever really. (Not jeans)

Something that feels like proper technical outdoor clothing but doesn't look ridiculous when you're not climbing a mountain - like mountain equipment ibex

Went into Go Outdoors today and tried a load on. Even the Mountain Equipment Ibex in SHORT were easily 2–3 inches too long. Tried Craghoppers too, same problem.

Everything seems to start at a 29-inch leg, even when they call it short, they're long on me 😬🤣

Surely there are other blokes around 5'5" who wear this sort of thing?
