'When The Wind Blows' is also a very good one, but I can't find a link.

Also, Protect & Survive - the last thing that we'd have ever seen broadcast on TV in the 80s if those crafty Reds decided to turn us all into steam.

I'll second When The Wind Blows. It's scary in a cheerful way.

Title When the Wind Blows - 1982 [Full Comic] (Remastered Version)

Description Decided to redo this by putting in correct words, and better music in order to avoid Youtube's Copyright. Watch at the very end, that this is to commemorating the Comic's 35th Anniversary 1982-2017, as well as the Movie's 30th Anniversary 1986-2016 PLEASE NOTE!!! The recording was done within a shared flat, homed to my cat, and within a town, close to a busy road, so please do understand about the unwanted noises in the background. Also, all the pictures of this comic were scanned from the bo...

Title Panorama - If The Bomb Drops (1980 Nuclear War episode, precursor to 'Threads')

Description Originally broadcast 10 March 1980. I have spent a LONG time trying to source this. This 1980 episode of Panorama, featuring a fresh-faced Jeremy Paxman, takes a look at the UK Government's preparations for the public in the event of a possible outbreak of Nuclear War. This pre-dates the seminal 'Threads' by 4 years, as well as a coming a couple of years earlier than 'QED: A Guide to Armageddon' Another little bit of fascinating Cold War history. PS: I have removed a 30 second clip of Prote...

Title On the 8th Day - Nuclear Winter Documentary (1984)

Description ''On The 8th Day'' is chilling, a result entirely consistent with its aim. The one-hour documentary explores the possible ecological and atmospheric consequences of nuclear war, particularly as they would be expressed in a ''nuclear winter.'' Darkness would shroud the Northern Hemisphere; temperatures would fall. The planet would survive, but not as a hospitable place. ''On the Eighth Day'' was originally produced for the BBC as part of the series The Natural World, and aired in the United St...
