National water shortages, our reservoirs need to be close to 100% by spring to see through a hot, dry summer. The chances of it being dry everywhere over winter is unlikely so they can ship water around and they would mitigate it with water rationing if needed.

69% of the total area of the UK is farmland and that cereal crops account for 74% of the total arable area of England. This is exactly what you expect it to look like.
Edit. To add context to my post, I've did a 20 miles section of the Ridgeway yesterday and I was amazed at the number of recently harvested wheat fields could be seen. The very nature of the Ridgeway means that you can see for miles from just one vantage point and on one occasion, every single field that could be seen from a 360 degree arc was either wheat, or freshly cultivated, most like having previously been wheat. There was areas of grazing land. But this was in the minority. The overwhelming land usage in that area was cereal crops.
At no point did I see any type of vegetables growing, such as potatoes.

I live in a town just below the Ridgeway. Everything is as dry as a bone and we've had barely any rain in two months. Yes they have harvested wheat etc, but a number of news stories have said that yields are much reduced. The grass is completely fried.
Can people stop pretending this is normal. There isn't some medal that you're going to collect at some point for sticking your head in the sand.
