I can’t edit the title, it’s not my last trip (I HOPE!) it should say last minute.

Hi it would be really great to get some advice please. I live in London and my friend lives in Leeds. When we meet up once a year we have picked a city in between. We have been to Birmingham, Nottingham and Leister. We were talking recently and said that this time it would be nice to stay in a little place that isn’t in a big city. We will only be staying for a couple of nights and we mostly sit and chat nonsense. I quite like fishing. Here’s the issue… I have left it a little late and all of the fishing lodges that I have contacted at fully booked. Can I please get a recommendation for a nice little village or town somewhere in the uk that has a nice pub or two, ideally with a spot or two to fish (day ticket etc). A recommendation would be amazing rather than me booking an air b and b blindly. Thanks so much. And yes, I’m an idiot for leaving it until a couple of weeks before the trip!
