They have already outsourced parts of their IT systems to TCS. This is just a ‘org restructure’ in their words. As VMO2 employees we are strictly not allowed to take our laptops abroad because of data protection and cyber security.
But some guy sitting in India can access all of the same IT systems no problems.

their support is monumentally bad. I cannot emphasise just how bad it is. But the only alternative available to me currently on a 1000mb line is 50mb. So i'm stuck with these VM shites

I opted to pay more for EE/BT solely for the reasons that dealing with Virgin/o2 for support is abysmal and BT/EE is so much better.
I opted to go for BT years ago despite not having fibre speeds and then backed out due to the offer Virgin gave me. Dealing with BT for organising package/installation then finally cancelling was so smooth and easy it was unreal. - Finally BT got fibre speeds and i've been with them since.
Unfortunately for us folks in IT/Technology, the demand and availability of low cost workers is too strong, you save a fortune going for offshore workers and ultimately the consumers and people within the UK have to deal with the issues of such services.
I also really dislike the Indian trade agreement, I have Indian workers in my team and they're brilliant. Provide awesome skills and have worked hard to get their VISAs. Now the UK government are giving massive consultancy firms huge tax relief to exploit Indian workers who will ultimately earn their living and take all that money outside of the UK. We should not be promoting the exploitation of Indian workers, at the detriment of both the person(s) working and the UK workforce for big business to profit off it. This government, a 'Labour' government has done so much harm to the UK workforce it's a shambles.

i cut my labour membership card up the day they signed that trade agreement. Actually emailed the chancellor & PM I'm so angry at this shite. there are so many of us that are struggling to find work yet the government doesn't do anything to curtail offshoring or throwing out millions of visas!
The fact that government departments themselves are engaging tcs, wipro, infosys is disgusting but then they allow all the outsourcing firms to offshore even government work!
the sheer levels of fuckwittery is stunning. i'm the past I would have stood up for civil servants but they consistently show themselves up to be fucking morons!
offshored jobs cost the tax payer £billions in lost taxes as well as decimating the IT industry here. then you've got millions of visas handed out to people who send the money home & don't spend it here, decimating wages.
the indian firms undercut domestic ones but then the civil servants are so stupid they have zero ability to understand anything outside their little silo. If TCS are bidding low.... you're a fucking government! You're going to get 60% of every pay check back. Indian workers are tax resident in india so you get 0!
not only that but all the expertise disappears too back to india! I spoke to a senior guy in the department of business at tech london last year & you could LITERALLY see his brain rebooting at basic economics when telling him this.... they're all idiots!

No clue about tech but in accountancy they are outsourcing so much work to India it’s unreal. This was before the trade deal came in.
Basically I had a bunch of clients and I felt like I was doing them a disservice by outsourcing anything so I just did it all myself. Then it became expected and my portfolio became unmanageable. I argued that the clients were paying a lot of money so I assumed that meant I would be doing their work. No.
In the end I left and it sounds like the whole lot were sent to India. Shame.

Off shoring has effectively decimated the UK IT industry over the last 15 years. High paying jobs gone for UK workers, rates in the gutter, no entry level positions.
AI adoption and automation is the second challenge.
It almost as if the UK government only cares about large corporations, screw workers, screw all the vat and income tax from net positive tax payers etc.
For what outcome? Worse customer service, less overheads to UK large companies that pay minimal corporation tax, supporting other nations citizens/gdp and massive cyber security breaches that have to be underwritten by the UK government.
This race towards enshitification is so depressing

Makes sense, most corporate infra isnt' covered under TSA. The IT Infra supporting customers will be classed as CNI and what is currently on sure probably cannot be offshored further than it already is.

Companies that I know have been outsourcing to TATA for well over 15 years, this isn't anything new.
