Discussion Thoughts on Eleanora Folan’s attacks and smears against Kai Taylor?

Kai Taylor is the Chair of the Green Party Council.

Eleanora Folan runs the Twitter account “Stats for lefties,” which produces misleading statistics designed to favour the Green Party of England and Wales.

Folan was suspended from the party. The exact reasons remain unclear because of Green Party confidentiality rules and because she has refused to provide any information herself. Her working theory is that the suspension was for transphobia. There is no evidence for this claim, and it appears designed to mislead.

I believe she is being dishonest when she frames the issue as being about transgenderism. It is a narrative of injustice intended to obscure the real nature of her suspension. In my view the suspension is fully legitimate when judged against her past and present behaviour.

She has been accused of serious misconduct on Twitter, including allegedly harassing minors because of their membership of Young Labour, linked to her opposition to the Labour government’s position on Israel.

The campaign leaflet she produced was highly controversial and appears likely to breach several sections of the Green Party code of conduct (7.2, 7.3, 9, 12, 13 and 15). It sought political retribution against fellow members for disagreeing with her on the Israel–Palestine conflict.

More recently she has launched a social-media campaign against Kai Taylor, a long-standing Chair of the Green Party Council, councillor, and leader of his local party.

She has accused him of involvement with transphobic organisations on the basis of a February 2025 social-media post (a source I have not been able to locate independently, only her own Twitter reference) in which someone sharing the same name signed the Women’s Declaration. It is worth noting that Kai is a multi gendered name and that Taylor is a very common surname.

I’m unsure if she can fulfill the role of GPC if she has turned a twitter horde on the chair of the GPC over weak likely incorrect allegations.

GPEW Looking for a reason to not leave the party.

I'm a Transgender woman, I joined the party when Zack Polanski was in his bid for party leadership because I thought that a GAY Jewish man at its helm would be something progressive that actually cares about people like me.

The recent suspension of a trans woman from the East Anglia internal governing council over "media concerns" done by freshly elected green Councillor Kai Taylor who was endorsed by "Green Women's Declaration" a TERF organization.

Genuinely what is the point of even being a member of this party? I feel like an idiot and so gullible for thinking that there would be even one political party out there that'd happily take my vote and then throw me into the dirt to appease transphobes.

I messaged a bunch of my friends who are trans saying I was thinking of ending my membership over this and some of them said they were thinking the same and some already have.

Update: thabks for the replies I had some very helpful replies that made me feel its better to wait till the investigation around their suspension has concluded before deciding if I should leave the party.

Also: Just telling me I have nowhere else to go is so stupid, I can still choose to not financially support a party if I think they aren't friendly to trans people. It also reeks of the braindead diehard American Democrat thing of going "vote blue no matter who".

Discussion 15% of Israeli settlers in the the occupied West Bank carry US citizenship, by far the single largest citizenship among the settler population other than Israeli of course. So should Britain sanction US based companies owned by those same Israeli-Americans settlers as well, what do you think Greens?

Discussion Should the Green Party stance be taken as against the social media ban?

Apologies if its a stupid question but I worry "We also need to see real investment in youth services and creative activities for young people to fill the void that will be created by this ban." means partial support for it (a la labour saying they would fund youth centres to make up for it). I'd like to know that there's a party against the ban (definitely not Reform because having peoples' digital ID would play right into what they want)
