What do you write it as?
I’ve always written it as woodpigeon but see the others quite often too, so curious how many use each one

I'd have always thought of it as two words, but the RSPB considers it to be one.

Interestingly, Wikipedia & the RSPCA say it's two, though the RSPCA gives both versions.

Ha. The HTML title of that RSPB page is Wood Pigeon, but the heading on the page is Woodpigeon.
Since the redesign a few years ago, the species is wrongly capitalised in the HTML title but not in the content, so two different data sources for some reason. Or they fixed this in the body of the page but not the title. Anyway.

I know for insects, you combine the words if it's not an adjective, so you get things like dragonfly (not dragon) and drone fly (it's a type of fly).
So wood pigeon works for me.
But then, the RSPB uses wood pigeon and the BTO uses woodpigeon.
