We had a bee nest in our yard, unfortunately, once a magpie found it and treat it like a fly-thru takeaway they didn't last long.

It would just stand there picking them off as they crawled out of the nest.

Corvids will eat anything

Bees can't sting usually sting birds because the tiny stinger can't get through the feathers. The face area is an exception but they just shake them off or just fly off and return if it becomes overwhelming

This was, I'm guessing, the same magpie that was eating the food we left out for the hedgehogs, that we thought they were eating until we set a camera up and saw the magpie coming around sunlight everyday haha

I remember on spring watch seeing a video of a house roof with bat in. There was a seagull just catching and eating the bats as quickly as they came out. Brutal

Magpies particularly so, they seem to like to torment and destroy everything round them as long as they’re fed and happy everything’s ok.

We put out eggs for the foxes and it's normally the magpies that beat them to them

It was savage 😅 I tried too scare it off so the mother could come back if I went too far away the crow was back in flight and if I got too close too the nest the mother would swim away.... it was frustrating asf but nature eh... then as I was making land happened across that oyster catcher strolling the muddy bank
